| UPDATED ! Please read this little f.a.q. //last update : May 22 2003 14:40 CEST// Map : Newbie Forum CD Freaks Living Room CD Freaks Bargain Basement International Chat: Software related General Software Forum Reading & Playing Software Forum Recording Software Forum Sub-Forums: CloneCD, Alcohol Software, BlindWrite Suite, CopyToCD/DVD, MovieJack/GameJack Transcoding Software Forum Sub-Forums: DVD2One Forum, Guides and Tutorials Video (e.g. MPEG-4), (S)VCD Editing and Authoring Forum Sub-Forums: Guides and Tutorials Audio Forum International Chat: Hardware related --> YOU ARE HERE --> General Hardware Forum <--- YOU ARE HERE --< Recording Hardware Forum Sub-Forums: Plextor Forum, LiteOn Forum Media Forum Firmware Forum Optical Storage Technical Discussions Language Dependant Dutch: De Woonkamer Dutch: Algemeen, Hardware en Software Italian: Chat German: General Chat CD Freaks Bug Reports CD Freaks Forum Talk --------------------------- Scope The General Hardware Forum is meant for every information , tips , tricks , comments and questions regarding computer related hardware that is not suitable to post in all the other forums in the map above. Remember we have a special forum for recorders. Purpose The purpose of the General Hardware Forum is to comment , add information and help each other with questions. Etiquette Type English. Preferably CORRECT English. As we all can understand that there are forum users who do not have English as their native language , it is not necessary to uphold every grammar and punctuation for example. But a thread , post or reply is a lot more fun and easier to read if there are paragraphs , comma's and other aids in it. What not to do ? Do not Flame , Do not Troll , Do not FUD , Do not play moderator unless you are one , Do not post in ALL CAPITALS , Do not crosspost , Do not tell people their hardware is crap constantly , Do not attach or show files and pictures that are bigger than 50 kilobytes. Think of the 56k people. The K.I.S.S. method Keep It Simple , Stupid. This is not meant that people are stupid , but to emphasize that not all people know your knowledge. Mind reading is quite difficult over a forum. Keep your postings simple. Keep them readable for everyone and don't mock people when they suggest something you already know. Fairy Tales The following things are NOT true and probably never will be : - This is a technical support forum and answers are guaranteed - Fast answers - Only 100% true and logical answers - The moderators know everything about anything and anyone - Moderators and Admins are not humans - The number of posts a forum user has is a reference to the amount of knowledge and kindness - Everyone understands your sense of humour - Everyone understand what you mean with "this thing here" - Everyone is kind and loving - Everyone is annoying and evil - Everyone is rich - Everyone is poor - Everyone overclocks their hardware - Everyone uses Microsoft Windows - Everyone has more than one Personal Computer - Everyone agrees Comments and suggestions We are all human. Give us your comments and suggestions. Keep the forum fun for everyone and share your knowledge. The forum is yours. Final suggestion Google is not the answer , Google is a method. Post the answer.
