I have burned a few discs with a few programs. It seems to transfer to hdd a lot faster than my 2.4C @ stock speed. I really have not compared the speed of encoding to my older machine yet. I'm running my E6600 @ 3.0 right now.

I should add i have been running F@H client and it uses 100% cpu. F@H runs a little over twice as fast as my single core (2.4). I've been giving my cpu a good workout in that way.

Well that sounds really good. I know the new C2 Duos will run rings around my current system, I just can't justify the cost yet. Too many other bills to pay I'm afraid.

Have fun with yours.

I haven't built anything new for myself for 4 yrs or so. It's nice having something newer and different than my older pc but i'm keeping my older one for my kid and wife to use

Re: rolling56's C2D build pics

I'm glad to see you got your beast built and running stable with a nice OC.
I note from your pictures that you still have the little accessories drawer fitted.
If you don't need the drawer it can be removed. This has two benefits.

1, you can move the big intake fan unit down one space (the coldest air is always at the bottom of the room so aids cooling).
2, It free's up an extra drive bay.

Thanks for the tip Dee. I haven't made up my mind yet. I thought about putting some of my new s/w (mobo drivers, vid card drivers, sound card drivers etc....) in the tray. I really like this case. I had no idea what i was missing till i got it. My wife has told everyone she knows about it and me too of course
