General Hardware Forum Discuss, Recommendations: Portable DVD Player at International Chat: Hardware related forum; I've been looking at Portable DVD players lately and was thinking about acquiring one. I know that many here back-up their DVDs on to -R/RW or +R/RW discs. I've read that some of these portable models will not play the -R/RW, +R/RW discs

Recommendations: Portable DVD Player

I've been looking at Portable DVD players lately and was thinking about acquiring one. I know that many here back-up their DVDs on to -R/RW or +R/RW discs. I've read that some of these portable models will not play the -R/RW, +R/RW discs but only the originals. For those who own a portable player, I'd like to know which one you'd recommend that will be able to play both your 1) back-up versions as well as 2) the originals without problems.

Thanks in advance.

(Mods: Move thread to appropriate forum if warranted. Thanks.)

Re: Recommendations: Portable DVD Player

I have a Polaroid PDV-0700 and its stable as a rock with a 3hr battery life. It can only read -R's NOT +R's and it doesn't skip, I tried it on shaky roads. It's kinda thick, not like those slim fancy ones but its very affordable and reliable. Also has Region free hack, and I like it very much.

Hope that was enough info for ya!!!
