General Hardware Forum Discuss, Ok, I have some trouble at International Chat: Hardware related forum; I have some troubles with my _NEC DVD+-RW ND-6450A drive. Ok, I have some trouble

I have some troubles with my _NEC DVD+-RW ND-6450A drive. It can't burn a certain kind of DVD-Rs that I've just bought. And I wonder if a firmware upgrade could fix my problem? Before answering this please read through this Thread at VideoHelp, it's not that much to read.

Hi & welcome to CDF.

You don't appear to have answered the last question on that forum, what brand are they?
It's quite possible that they're either fakes or sub-standard. In this case the only option is to dump them as a firmware upgrade is unlikely to help.

Also if possible, in addition to brand, can you scan one with dvdidentifier to get us a dye type?

That is everything dvdidentifier tells me. I will looks up what brand it is, I can't check my order since I ordered it with a friend, I will ask him ASAP.

I suspect that is the problem. Own branded media tend to be very sub-standard & not really worth buying.
