The Gigabyte GA-7NNXP nForce 2 Ultra is supposed to be one of the best yet of the new Rev2.0/Ultra 400 boards.
Review

I have the Asus A7N8X Deluxe rev1.04 and its rock solid though it has taken a while to get their with all the various bios updates over the months. The rev2.0 board is just as solid as they are mature products now.

The Abit Rev2.0 board is the one to go for if you like them, though I've heard stay away from their 1.x rev boards as they are very troublesome.

Their is also MSI,Aopen,Soltek,Chaintech and a few more to consider but I imagine if you stick to the Rev2.0/Ultra 400 boards you should not have any trouble.

In general, i thinks it's wise to avoid the latest boards and stick with the ones that have been around for 6 months or so with a few BIOS updates. Asus has non-existant support, but the boards are very popular for overclocking. Your best source for user information is www.amdforums.com , there you can read reports on all the boards.

Well I would agree that Asus's support is very shadowy they have no forums of their own and getting a responce from them is like trying to get blood from a stone but they do get round to actually fixing problems and were the first to properly fix the SATA corruption issue with the SI chip that is on a lot of nForce 2 boards. And they enabled/validated 400mhz fsb on their 1.04/1.06 nforce 2 boards.

As for the latest boards in most cases yes its worth waiting, but the nForce 2 Ultra 400 is nothing more than a mature nForce 2 board with a few more fixes and validated for 400Mhz operation so I would still go with getting one of the Ultra 400/Rev2.0 boards.

Case in point is Abit, a friend of mine has one infact 2 versions of the 1.x series and they have been nothing but trouble. After RMA'ing and much complaining he got sent the Rev2.0 board and it has not given him any grief at all and partially restored his faith in Abit
