| Need help with ASUS A7N266-VM motherboard This is the nVidia nForce220D integrated motherboard. Firmware Rev 1006. The problem I have is that when I turn the computer on it starts to boot up but then goes into BIOS with the following message coming up. Message Confirmation The system intruded, chassis opened or tempered before. [OK] So I then exit BIOS and the same thing happens again and again. Sometimes I have to reboot the machine for up to 20 minutes to finally get into windows. Naturally I have emailed ASUS support but as of yet I have received no reply. Any help in solving this really anoying problem would be much recieved.

| Is there perhaps an option in your BIOS to enable/disable the Chassis intrusion detection? If so, by simply disabling the feature, the problem should be gone!

| In the manual there is a section on Chassis Intrusion Connector where you can add an external mechanism to enable this feature. On this board I don't have that so the two connection pins have been shorted as per the manual instruction with a jumper. I have also removed and replaced the jumper to make sure that was not the fault.

If this doesn't work, look up the Chassis intrusion switch connector on your mainboard, and short it with a jumper... that should give the mainboard the idea the chassis is closed..

| I was editing my post as your were replying to me. I found somthing I had overlooked in the manual about the connector and so had a fiddle with it and replaced the jumper just to make sure but still it happens.

| I have replaced the jumper cap that was shorting out the Chassis Intrusion Connector and at present no more messages have come up. I can but hope that it was a faulty jumper cap.
