memory leaks can PERMA damage pcs?

my friend made a buggy program for our IT class project, he claims that i'll have to test it or else he'll report me as a slacker and i won't get any marks.

so i test the program, and it was very very buggy, almost everytime the program is launch, it would instanly cause a blue screen of death, although sometimes it would be alright and it would work fine for a while, allowing me to take screenshots of it, but during the entire testing procedures my pc crashed for about 10 times, he said it's only a minor memory leak and my pc will be fine, but i was wondering weather he's really telling the truth.

when i'm not using the program though, my pc ran like a dream, but i'm still very worried that my pc's hardware, espically ram or cpu, might have or possibily have been damage by the blue screen, memory leak and excessive restarts...etc

so please tell me, could my pc have sustain any damage?

below is the message that came up after my pc restarts of the blue screen of death:

thanks for helping.

"windows has recover from a fatal error, send report/don't send, for more info click here"

and after clicking it, i'm presented with the above error as seen in screenshot, all i want to know is if memory leaks or bad programs causing a blue screen of death will result in my pc hardware sustaining perma damage?

thanks for helping.

I think a well-directed kick might be in order!

Looks like your friend won't be getting any marks

I don't think you need to worry. Apart from a few very rare exceptions,
buggy software won't do any lasting damage. I would run a virus scan
on it, just in case his program has installed something nasty.

Re: memory leaks can PERMA damage pcs?

The program errors and memory leaks can't hurt anything. Having frequent BSODs can cause issues with Windows, but rarely hurts hardware.

It would be best to disable disc write cache on your hard drives while doing any testing.
