Help with IBM PC-Radio 9075 A friend of mine has given me an IBM PC-Radio model 9075 (see http://www.sinasohn.com/cgi-bin/clas...mputer=pcradio) The problem is that I can't get it to work! Theoretically, it needs an antenna to work via radio, but I have no idea how to get one (the PC's last revision is September 1992). So, in absence of an antenna, I've tried to link it to my telephone line via a PSTN cable. Failure in this time too ![]() It tells me "04 - NODIALTONE" How can I solve this problem ?? ![]() Helpppppp ![]()

Re: Help with IBM PC-Radio 9075 I don't think I can offer much help, but isn't this a DOS device? When you write "can't get it to work" do you mean it doesn't boot or the radio transmission doesn't work? I think the radio only worked with one network, a company called Ardis. Have you looked to see if they are still in business? Good luck, it could turn out to be a fun project.

Re: Help with IBM PC-Radio 9075 The radio device has been approved in almost all Europe. The problem is where to locate an antenna. Also the PSTN cable doesn't work, it tells me 04 - NODIALTONE when calling and 01 - TIMEOUT if answering. ![]()

Re: Help with IBM PC-Radio 9075 The wireless antenna is for the (now closed?) ARDIS radio network in US which was a joint venture between IBM and Motorola. http://www.leapforum.org/published/i...t/node117.html http://www.mobileinfo.com/Wireless_N...wan_ardis_.htm //Danne

Re: Help with IBM PC-Radio 9075 Sorry I can't be of more help. I see that you are in Italy, my suggestion is to find a local ham radio club if any exist near you and/or if you have anything similar to RadioShack (an electronics parts store here is the US) to see if they can help at all. I have no idea what frequency the radio transmits at, but that shouldn't make a difference in the antenna. Io sonno stato a Firenza per due mezzi dieci anni fa. Ciao
