| HDCP Video Cards? I have been seeing alot of talk on this and was thinking along the lines of HDTV as for HDCP ready would the same rules apply on these cards as to TV's? Meaning that HDTV ready isn't the same as an HDTV? I'm fixing to do a new build and was wondering about this as I want to use this type of card and get a compliat monitor as well.

| Re: HDCP Video Cards? all i know is i'm building 1 last comp for myself and it's staying that way for a very long time.(so i say ) i'm 41 and have spent way to much on computer parts the last 10+ years.(could've had that summer home on the lake i wanted....well at least a quarter of it ) comps are changing way to fast here lately with all the new technology. and trying to keep up with it all is getting way to expensive. so i'll wait it out for a year and try to get my money's worth with what i have now. good luck to you Dr. Who and let us know how it goes. |

| Re: HDCP Video Cards? If you live in the states, HDCP will apply to you if you have cable or satellite as it will not broadcast and give you an error message if your end is not HDCP ready. I speak from a recent experience.

| Re: HDCP Video Cards? Hell yeah, lol. Spot on, there are now a bunch of HDCP equipped gfx cards on the market. On the ATI side there are cards from SAPPHIRE, TUL (Powercolor) and Gigabyte. On the nvidia side there are cards from MSI, Gigabyte and others. HDCP and HDMI might be a bit more complicated than you might think. And HDTV is not HDTV...

| Re: HDCP Video Cards? @ xtacydima Where in your statement does HDCP enabled output on video cards apply to Sat/Cable? I'm just curious what kind of knowledge it would provide regarding video cards. //Danne |
