Hi everyone,
Ok so here's my question / issue..... I had Verizon Fios installed yesterday (9/14/06) and after the first ActionTec Router (Model MI424-WR) died 10 minutes after it was hooked up, then the Verizon tech replaced it with another new actiontec router. i wasnt happy with how the firmware / O/S works in this router, (such as me having to remap all of my forwarded ports, wireless security, etc.)
So i took it down, and replaced it with my Dlink DI-614+ now im happy again, but I'm not getting the full speed that im paying for (20megabit down / 5megabit up)
Is it possible that the chip in the Dlink which controls the bandwith in the WAN port, isnt fast enough to support 20Megabit down?
I figure that is not really an issue, seeing as how it is all TCP/IP, but I'm curious to know if anyone else has used an older (about 4 years old) Router and has perfect bandwith tests coming back to them?
Also, I am not getting good speed test results from EITHER Verizon.com's test site: (»
speedtest.verizon.net/SpeedTeste···test.jsp)
OR from other sites such as speakeasy.com....im only getting about 12megabit down / 3megabit up ....i have a call into Verizon's NOC, but im stuck waiting for 24-48 hours, and they havent been much help anyway.
A LITTLE HELP PLEASE!!!
Much thanks
