DVD fails to read in computer dvd, reads in dvd player

Hello,

Several years ago, I made a DVD with some home movies. Now, I decided to make a backup. It looks like no DVD recorder in computer is able to mount it - I tried several, different brands. However, when I put it in DVD player, i.e. not in computer, it immediately mounted it and started playing without any visible problem. What gives?

thanks

Not properly authored DVD or the standalone lacks compatibility.

What DVD player program are you using? VLC or Power DVD Players may work for you.
