Re: Difference between DVI-I and DVI-D

if memory serves me correctly

DVI-I (I for interlaced) can handle both digital and analogue
DVI-D (D for Digital) can handle digital only

It gets confusing, there is even DVI-A

Any current day LCD will be able to support the connector.

For your other question, I bought 3 Dell LCD's, one for me, one for a family member, and another one for a significant other. I happen to like them very much and their support is awesome. They exchaned my 20.1" because I complained about a single dead pixel.
Runner is the Samsung Syncmaster family... awesome ms timings and moreso geared for gaming.

Re: Difference between DVI-I and DVI-D

Thanks for clearing that up.

For similar specs and approximately same price which would be a better buy, Dell or Viewsonic?

3-8 with normal panels class 2, IIRC.
But in the end, it depends on the service...

Yah, I even did it twice, Dell is all about 110% customer care and satisfaction. I was surprised as well. I know diff companies have diff standards usually btw 3-8 dead pixels. I beleive there was a review one on THG with that. But yes, Dell did exchange for a single dead pixel and gave me NO problem about it at all.
