Are there any other things I should know?

I propably will by a 256Mb version, that's more than enough I think.

As reference I put in the available types from one brand:
Dane-Elec Compact Flash Card 256Mb, €53,00
Dane Elec Secure Digital Card 256Mb, €68,00
Dane-Elec xD Picture Card 256Mb, €110,00

if you want to take compatibility with other devices into consideration, compact flash is by far the most commonly used flash media. this could be important if you want to use the same media in other devices you might buy, as well as upgrade purchases (ie: replacement camera) you might make.
