General Hardware Forum Discuss, Buy Toshbia SD-M1802 or SD-M1712 at International Chat: Hardware related forum; Which drive should I go for? Should i get the SD-M1802 for around $35 or the SD-M1712 for about $25. Is the newer drive worht springing the extra 10 bucks for?

Buy Toshbia SD-M1802 or SD-M1712

Which drive should I go for? Should i get the SD-M1802 for around $35 or the SD-M1712 for about $25. Is the newer drive worht springing the extra 10 bucks for?

Go for the 1712! It's equally fast and much more compatible than the 1812 is. The 1812 can't do DVD-RAM and euh I believe it was DVD-R or so.... (doesn't really matter, the 1712 is the much better choice).
