| Burnproof , JustLink , Seamless Link , SuperLink, wtf-link ? Hi there all . Is there anywhere on the web a list that explains all the differences between the various Buffer Underrun Protection schematics that the vast amount of manufacturers have produced ? I know some of them are a 99% clone than the other one , but i can't find a list what defines the one from the other. Also know that the JustLink method is quite better than the BurnProof technology (less gap space). The trouble is i want a list which Buffer Underrun Protection is hard coded (default ON inside the ROM/firmware of the writer) and which is soft coded (default OFF inside the writer and has to be turned on via Nero/other writer programs). |

| I think only seamless link will work without software support. The others need software support to work. If I'm right ![]() Burnproof: Sanyo technology, writers based on sanyo chipsets most likely uses this tech. (Plextor, sanyo, TEAC, and others) Exaclink: OAK technology, writers based on philips chipset normally uses this tech. (Mitsumi, Cyberdrive, yamaha....) Justlink: Richo technology, writers based on richo chipset mostly uses this tech (Richo, AOpen, Artec, samsung....) Seamless link: Philips/acer technology. I think only philips and acer/benq uses this tech Mediatek chipset: I don't know if it have a real name, most manufacturers give it theri own name (JustBurn(Memorex), flextra link(Asus), smartburn(Lite-On), super link(LG)......) And there is probably a shiload that I forgot.

| In my experience, (Tested on my LG 16x,) SuperLink also doesn't need software support to work (Tested on Fireburner old version), it seems to be always on (Although Nero apparently can disable it, but I haven't tried doing so.). So it seems to be different from the others Mediatek-technologies. |

| If I'm right Seamless Link can't be turned off by any software (so SuperLink is different) and is coded in the firmware, the rest of OC-Freaks info seems also to be right...

| Re: Burnproof , JustLink , Seamless Link , SuperLink, wtf-link ? I just spoke to a few tier 2 tech support people at Samsung, and they said that Superlink needs software in order to run. I didn't really get clarification about some of the distinctions mentioned on this thread - I'm not sure they knew. Here's the original thread I started from with some more info: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread....04#post1660204 However, I found this page here that says Superlink is always on, doesn't need software support: http://www.cdrlabs.com/reviews/index...&page=Features
