Re: Best home DVD-RAM burner?

Are you talking about a computer DVD burner or a standalone device that supports DVD-RAM?

Just look for computer burners that carry the "SuperMulti" logo.

I know that.

I am looking for a specific recommendation. I am leaning toward the NEC 4550 since it can read my old Plextor 708A DVD-R burns as well.

Re: Best home DVD-RAM burner?

1st, RAM is inappropriate for "archiving". It's primarily used for temporary storage, (backups), and video and the like. Like a little portable hard drive.

LG has been the standard for RAM burners for as long as we have had RAM. All the rest are newcomers. The biggest difference is in the RAM driver you use. So far, the Panasonic driver is the best. InCD should be avoided.
