| ATI X1300Pro PowerDVD7 Intermittent Video Blackout I have been struggling with this problem for a while now and can't pin it down to a direct HW or SW problem. Whenever I watch a DVD video using PowerDVD 6 or 7 while having IE7 runing and browsing sites at the same time,I will get intermittent black screen (< 1 sec). I tend to think this is a software issue but I am pretty much running all latest version of software and driver. System specs: 1) Abit AB9Pro BIOS 15 2) Pioneer 111 DVD drive on Jmicron Controller using latest driver 1.17.04.00 3) ATI X1300Pro running Catalyst driver 6.9 4) XP SP2 + IE7 5) PowerDVD 7 with Oct-06 Patch 6) 20in DVI LCD running on 1680 X 1050 resolution Did anyone encounter the same problem and is there a fix or workaround? |

| Re: ATI X1300Pro PowerDVD7 Intermittent Video Blackout IE is still beta. I would try Firefox. I have an X1600pro HDMI with PowerDVD7 H.264 running.

| Re: ATI X1300Pro PowerDVD7 Intermittent Video Blackout I have tried Firefox 2.0 and the problem still persists. The problem is also there with WinDVD 7. It is probably a driver issue somewhere with ATI and/or the JMircon IDE driver. |

| Re: ATI X1300Pro PowerDVD7 Intermittent Video Blackout Chef, Sorry. A very belated reply. My PSU is an Enermax NoiseTaker 485W ATX V2.0 Compliant. After a lot of marking around. A person from the Abit forum advised me to try VLC media player. The problem disappears with VLC player. This leads me to believe the problem is somewhere with DirectX, ATI Driver or PowerDVD (thoudh WinDVD exhibit the same problem). VLC is a pretty good player and I am impressed. |
