anyone know why that is happening?
i tried buring something else using annother program and it worked, but this is the only one that lets it work on my dvd player.... can anywone tell mw what i can do plz!

I'm shocked, since those Verbatims are good quality media.

When someone has burning issues, I always suggest the same thing.

Lower the burn speed. Burn them at 2.4x !

Is this a Dell OEM Drive ?

If yes, there's a firmware upgrade for it:

good luck with that...i had that power calib. issue(not with vsa app but with nero) and later i found out that my dvd drive was going bad...1st it was the power calib. error and then it stopped reading cd-r's but it read dvds just fine...i was told that the laser uses more power to burn cd-r's than dvd's and thats why my dvd writer/reader still worked...eventually it wouldnt even read the data on cd-r's needless to say or write,etc....
i did some adjustments,etc,etc which were just temp fixes...

My external 16x dvd is a BENQ DQ60 and I have the same problem ... only with Convertxtodvd.
I checked my Nero Infotool to determine if ASPI is ok and it is.
I think (but not sure) this only became a problem after updating the firmware to the MREC version.

All VSO Software doesn't use ASPI or Nero's Layer.

It uses VSO Patin Couffin Driver.

I am having the same problem. I can burn CDRs fine, I can read CDs and DVDs fine, but every time I try to burn a DVD I am either getting that error, or it just stops in the middle of burning and fails....

Please help me too!! I am having the same problem with an HP940d burner using verbatim disks. I've tried lowering my speed in the convertx setup burn screen all the way down to 1x but it never tries to burn at less than 6x.
