VSO - Please see this. Helpful hopefully :)

I've noticed a bug in the latest version of ConvertX (2.1.14.223). In the subtitle setting page, if you try to rename your own subtitle schemes the program cannot remember them (the VSO help file says it can). For example, changing "style#2" to "Bold Black".

Also I have three suggestions:

1) The default text in the subtitle preview doesn't make sense. How about "Subtitles will display here in the style you select. They may be arranged over several lines."

2) Please make the selectable subtitle preview background picture stick. It is not remembered at present.

3) Aspect ratio. A useful improvement would be to add a "keep/ do not keep" aspect ratio to the drop-down for each input video file. If you selected "do not keep" the file would then be resized to fill the 4:3 or 16:9 size you have set in overall preferences to correspond to your TV screen. The reason for this is to enable the correction of wrongly aspected 4:3 or 16:9 input video.

For example, if I have a video file that should be 4:3 but has been wrongly encoded already at 3:2 (or other) and my overall preference in ConvertX is set for a 4:3 TV screen I can select "do not keep aspect ratio" for that file and it will be corrected back to 4:3 in the encode.

Selecting "keep" would, as now I beleive, mean that video files retain their existing aspect ratio and are letterboxed or vertically black-barred if necessary. (Don't alter this. In my view software like this should never make decisions to crop picture unless instructed specifically).

Thanks.

Can you put these ideas forward VSO?
