| VSO not responding after a period of time Okay I need to transfer a AVI to DVD format. The forum recommended ConvertX2DVD downloaded the program from VSO site to do a test, if I minimize the program it goes to "not responding". Disabled my antivirus, deinstalled and reinstalled. But it seems if I run another program or if the program is going to burn the DVD it just goes to not responding and freezes, any help would be appreciated. Here is a crash log file. 4/15/2007 8:52:00 PM info Stream #1 Sync. delay : 0.00 ms 4/15/2007 8:52:00 PM info Stream #0 Sync. delay : 0.00 ms 4/15/2007 8:52:00 PM info Output Stream#0 - Video: mpeg2video, yuv420p, 720x480, 1/25, q=1-31, 5533 kb/s 4/15/2007 8:52:00 PM info Video Stream #0 Pulldown : 25.000 -> 29.97 Fps 4/15/2007 8:52:00 PM info Padded source image : Left 0, Top 56, Right 0, Bottom 56 4/15/2007 8:52:00 PM info Video source original frame rate: 25.00 4/15/2007 8:52:00 PM info NTSC 29.97 FPS output format set by user 4/15/2007 8:52:00 PM info Widescreen (16:9) set automatically 4/15/2007 8:52:00 PM info Video bitrate 0/5533/8808 Kbps (min/avg/max) 4/15/2007 8:52:00 PM info Converting "J:\DRIVE G\Emule\Temp\Ghost.Rider.DvDRip.AC3.Dost.GRT.[sharethefiles.com].avi" 4/15/2007 8:52:00 PM info ----------------Title #1---------------- 4/15/2007 8:52:00 PM info Project size 4.3 Gb. | Re: VSO not responding after a period of time Thought of that also so I tried another movie, and it did the same thing. If I open another application, VSO will freeze and when I look at the task manager it goes to not responding. I even thought it maybe my machine so I tried it on another machine I have in my home and the same thing happened. I would really like this to work, to test conversion. |

| Re: VSO not responding after a period of time Okay tried that already, no luck. Even tried to install on another workstation. I am trying another product now cucusoft and that seems to work on the other workstation. CxD does not work on either workstations. Sorry. |

| Re: VSO not responding after a period of time Hi there, I've been ßeta testing ConvertXtoDVD since v0.5.2b and never had it FREEZE or LOCK UP my PC, so there's gotta be something on your PC that's conflicting with it. Do you have other Encoder (Codecs) installed on your PC ? I installed and use K-Like Mega Codec Pack but always install in "PLAY ONLY" mode, never install FFMPG or other encoders that can conflict. My 2 cents... |

| Re: VSO not responding after a period of time Okay some good suggestions here. It really does not freeze my pc, the program just freezes. I will try and deinstall the codecs from my workstation and install the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. |

| Re: VSO not responding after a period of time Hi again, More as an FYI One thing I have noticed in the past, some people with low end computers, the computer was so busy converting it had no CPU cycle to update the interface. The software looked frozen, but if you use windows explorer and do a REFRESH of the output directory, you would actually see the output.vob files growing and growing, which tells me the conversion is still going, just the interface froze since the CPU is too busy. 2 suggestions when that happens: Turn off the Video Preview. Set the conversion priority to "Idle" this way it won't take all the CPU cycle away from other applications, and from the main interface. The ConvertXtoDVD and the conversion thread are 2 different tasks. Setting the conversion priority to idle, doesn't change the priority for the interface. |

| Re: VSO not responding after a period of time Thanks cougar_ii, I took your advice, deinstalled all my codec packs, and deinstalled ConvertXtoDVD, got the K-Lite codec pack and reinstalled CXD, with the latest install. Turned off video preview and put priority to idle. CXD went through the entire convertion, which is great. I played it on my laptop and it looked fine and sounded fine, then I burned it to a DVD. When I put it on my dvd player it plays but no sound. I took a look at the logs they look fine but maybe I am missong something. Cougar_ii you were a lifesaver before, anymore suggestions why no sound when played on DVD player? 4/22/2007 6:32:38 PM info New media inserted. | Re: VSO not responding after a period of time Okay JJ I will check my dvd player. But wait I did a conversion with another product called cucusoft and the audio was heard, the only thing was with the application the picture was choppy and the audio did not synch. So I do not think it is the dvd player. But if it does not support ac3 do you have any suggestions what I can do? |

| Re: VSO not responding after a period of time counterer: other products might do anything, like convert audio always to PCM etc. But most DVD players are capable of playing AC3, you just need to check settings. If you do not have external amplifier then settings must match - usually something like "surround sound off" or "5.1 to 2 channels" etc. |

| Re: VSO not responding after a period of time Okay just checked my DVD player (Apex AD1600) and it does play ac3. Is there a setting in CXD that will change the ac3 to PCM? Any help would be great. Also changed soem of the settings on my DVD player tried to take surround off with still no luck. |
