So long as it works.

I copied with blindwrite 4.2.5, using a liteon dvd 165H to read and a liteon 48126s@48246s to write, and it works very quickly, about 3 seconds spin up time.

I can also use it to install.

cool thx for quick reply.

one other question --- when you made the BWA file did you hit Yes on "Automatic set last sector?" or did you hit No ???
i've always just hit No, does this matter?
what does it do anyways?

I just used yes.
It just automatically sets the last point that it checks for the density.

Automatic settings should be fine.

I'm not sure whether it uses live-assist and sets it from a value retrieved from a database on a server, or whether it just chooses the last data sector. Dunno.
It works ok though

Another note.

Blind suite 4.2.8 doesn't copy well.
Use 4.2.5.

The Live assist has nothing to do with the .BWA Builder, the Database only contains general information about the game you are trying to backup, such as:
Difficulty : VERY HARD (very strong copy protection, with hardware requirements)
Read method : Nibble
Subcode extraction : Not Required
Write Method : DAO mode required (DAO PW preferred)
Weak sector enhancement : Not Required (unchecked)
Play backup : Only from CD reader, Autoplay for BW maybe required.
A .BWA file is needed. Protection is SecuRom 4

here is a tip

when makeing the image to tick extract subs ... leave it blank and let blindwrite do its own subs ......

this will spark some speed into your cdrom at startup
