Lots of writers can do it with the twinpeak process.

If, however, you mean making a working copy without either emulation or twinpeak patching, then the plex premium currently is your only option.

thanks philamber I've yet to try blindwrite 4.2.5 with it's original Patin-Couffin driver...

Using 4.2.5 with the latest driver (v1.14 I think) failed (burnt bwa to cdrw) with RMPS emulation by DT

As an aside, does any game/securom blacklist blindwrite's driver (autoplay) ?

Twinpeak patched images have to be burnt to a cdr/w. The patched image won't work when mounted on a virtual drive.

Not yet (Sony, in its blacklistings, has to date focused only on alcohol, CloneCD and Daemon Tools. Blindwrite has not yet been targeted).

Silly question. Are you trying to run the copy from a writer without an atip hiding utility?

silly? What I'm trying to say is that I think making a backup using the latest version of blindwrite or alcohol and a liteon burner doesn't work with Securom 4.84.84.xxxx with or without emulation. I (like a number of people) have had no problems with earlier Securom versions but this one seems different.

What I'd like to see is blindwrite and/or alcohol making a good backup using a liteon burner that plays in all drives (with emulation).

Anyway, I've tried the copy in the burner and a dvd drive with and without various atip hiding (ccd, alcohol, dt).

Have you tried CloneCD/twinpeak? It's the method that I find to be the most reliable.

Note that if you've got a good bwa file, and it doesn't work with the default twinpeak sector step of 15, try using a sector step of 50 or of 6.

Both have been known to work too and some of our members have had good results with a sector step of 50 whilst the default of 15 has failed.

Thanks philamber,
I must admit that I haven't tried the ccd/twinpeak method because I found that without emulation using bw 4.2.5 didn't work with all drives. I'll have go though tonight and update thread with my findings...

@ philamber

The only time I´ve tried twinpeak was with Colin3, the game worked, but it took about 3-5 minutes before the game started. That was with default sector step 15, is it possible that another value fixes that?
Using BW 4.25 it worked like a charm, so all is well.
Just curious if wrong value in twinpeak gives that kind of behavior.

My experience of using the wrong twinpeak sector step is that it fails to authenticate. I also find that 50 is the most compatable step value to use.

The only time I've had long authentication times has been with Hitman 2 using BW 4.2.5. There was also only a 50/50 chance of the game actually authenticating too.

Using twinpeak and CCD the authentication time is fine. I suspected that my backp of GTA:VC actually authenticated quicker than the original at times too.

I have had very inconsistent results with BlindWrite in the past, but find that the best method for me is a CloneCD image that is TwinPeak patched and then burned.

I only now use BWABuilder to make a BWA if I can't download a good one from the Internet.

well using the default 15 on Homeworld 2 failed
Windows would hang as a result of the game's cd check!!

Burned the patched ccd imaged using Alcohol onto cdrw.
