Roxio EasyCreator 5 & BlindWrite

Question? Does anyone know of any compatability issues between Roxio Easy Creator 5 Platinum (version 5.34.2.1 the latest update as of 2/11/03) and the latest version of the Blindwrite Suite on a machine running WinXP. I am thinking of installing the Blind Write Suite but after reading about the "Paten" drivers and all and knowing that Roxio uses ASPI layers....Roxio runs good for me but I am hesitant to try Blind Write out of fear that if it conflicts that I will have to fdisk and re-install WinXP. Appreciate very much your candid thoughts on this issue.

Why do you use Roxio? IMHO Nero is better!

I have the following installed on my system w/ no problems with Windows XP Pro SP1:
CloneCD 4.2.0.2
Fireburner 2.17
DiskDump
Nero 5.5.10.0
Blind W-R 4.2.5
Alcohol 120% 1.4.0.114

had installed but really don't use them so I uninstalled:
Diskjuggler
CDRWin

I also have installed on a PC at work running W2kPro
EzCdcreator Platinum
Alcohol 120%
Nero 5.5.10.0
Blind W-R
no conflicts here either, the only reason I even installed EZ was I found instructions on how to slipstream SP1 into XP and making a bootable CD using EZCD. Other than that I never use the APP.

you don't have to install the patin drivers if you choose to during the install of BW. It will then use the ASPI drivers. BW recommends that you use their drivers though.

( Thanks for your speedy reply Jackal2001...I guess the reason why I use EasyCreator Platinum is that I have had very little problems with it and have only made a few "coasters" with it There was a lot of information at the BlindWrite site about its features and all but after reading of some users problems and the uninstall issues with the "Patin" drivers I am still debating on installing and testing it. I just recently fdisked and reinstalled XP and after getting all of the updates and reinstalling programs and data I don't want to go thru that again anytime soon at least

I will see if others report that it causes no conflicts as you did
Thanks!

If you use a newer nero version you can use the express version to make bootable baskups just as easy as you can with ezcd. So there is no need for you to have ezcd on your computer. Some report incompatibility errors and some may not. To know for sure you don't get your computer f**ked up, I recommend you to not use ezcd, but if you want to anyway... good luck.

That is exactly why I only put Ez on my spare pc in work.
Don't really care if it gets messed up.

but that's the point, you don't need ezcd, all the things you can do with ezcd, you can also do with nero!

Yes I know, but if you read my other post I said that I found instructions on how to slipstream sp1 into xp and the burn instructions were only in Ez.
After I did it here in work I went home and copied it with nero.
I love nero but just haven't had time to play with all its functions. I have been using it since ver4 and still think it is the best burning software in the world.
