Problems matching MP3 music to photos I have spent considerable time loading almost 400 family photos for my Mothers 80th birthday celebration into PhotoDVD and have added music as MP3 files. I put all the photos in order and even seperated by dates and themes. Even though it shows the start times match for the music at certain sets of pictures, when I finally make the compilation (over 2 hours to do) some songs are off by a minute or so. For example, I want the Christmas photos to have Christmas music. The first Christmas photo starts at 27:45 and I have worked out all the previous music times so the Christmas song would start at 27:45 also. After compilation and burning, the xmas music comes up a minute later than it is supposed to....Any ideas.? ![]()

Re: Problems matching MP3 music to photos Hi and welcome to the forum. Yes this can be very frustrating, and there is no solution for the moment. Are you encoding in PAL or in NTSC? I am starting to believe that the difference is bigger in NTSC than PAL compared to the preview the motor that generates the preview is not the same one the compiles/encodes the video file and therefore the difference.

Re: Problems matching MP3 music to photos I tried matching few pics to sound - and it worked just fine. Ok, I used "only" 300 photos and 4 mp3 tracks. I first added some photos, then added first music track that belonged with those pics, tweaked timings so that those photos were exact match to that mp3, then added some more photos and second track, tweaked again, and repeated this with all tracks and photos. Then I converted and checked output result; it is spot on. I did not use preview - I checked timings from main window.

Re: Problems matching MP3 music to photos I was back in California just a couple days ago, worked on a slideshow with my folks, I had cut audio tracks with the software easy audio cutter in order to match the music up with my pictures perfectly, but once compiled into NTSC, there was a big difference I would say around 15-20 seconds. I guess I will try and compile the same slideshow in PAL and see if the audio is more 'in sync' with my pictures.

Re: Problems matching MP3 music to photos Hi, this is what I have noticed, slideshow length 20 minutes. encoded in PAL, no delay significant in audio comparted to pictures from what was shown in preview encoded in NTSC 18 seconds off (audio is slow) compared to preview for same slideshow http://bugs.vso-software.fr/view.php?id=596

| Re: Problems matching MP3 music to photos Adobe Premiere Elements is not expensive and can manage this pretty well. Use multiple soundtracks...edit the quality, effects, gain, length, cut where you want, fade-in and fade-out etc. Overlap the soundtracks so they fade out and into the next at the same time, even with matching the beat if you like. Adjust the length of time a still pic is shown as well...this can help make the time work better.

Re: Problems matching MP3 music to photos Advertizing another program is not solving this problem. As California Girl said, there is no problems when doing PAL photoDVD. Problems with timing occur when doing it in NTSC. I just finished testing, compiled DVD with NTSC in options. Matched soundtracks to photos, then saved project and compiled it. Timing was off. Rough timings showed that sound was off roughly the difference of NTSC and PAL, sound going 5 frames behind every second. This could be compensated by user with exact calculations, but VSO should fix this. Then I loaded same project, changed it to PAL and compiled. Perfect audio and video match. Seems that program is calculating timings internally as PAL all the time, causing NTSC to be off.
