I have an LG 52x24x52x16 CDRW-DVD combo drive and when I try and make an MDS file from Alcohol 120% 1.4.8 the cd drive locks up and I can't close Alcohol, I must reset my machine everytime. Does anyone have any ideas?

Maybe ask this same question in the Alcohol section of the forum where more alcohol users will see it.

plain and simple... three ways to make a backup


1 - plextor premium drive

2 - autoplay (BW emulaiton)

3 - use the tweaker to select Twinpeaks method..ie not stable and at own risk/venture

BW 5 works well with Unreal 2.

months ago, when i backed up my unreal 2, i had a LG burner... no combo drive - combo drives are known as not so good readers - for example in the sony vaio laptop of my girlfriend there is a dvd-rw/cd-rw combo drive and even in the manual is written that those drives have more problems reading cd's than normal drives - especially if the cd is a little more scratched...
but the point is that months ago i used bw 4.2.5 (yes, the good old version which, in my oppinion, WAS the best for twinpeak copys without autoplay) to copy that game and it worked fine for me.
but i think you won't install that old version of bw just to copy this game?
just try reading it with on another computer... this might help since it looks like a prob with your hardware...
