| Max Payne 2 | Backup GTG After several coasters, I've finally made a "no worry" backup copy of MP2_Play; it's GTG (Good To Go). Furthermore, I want to return some info back to the community that has helped me countless times. Burner: LiteOn External 52327S Blindwrite ver. 4.2.5 Settings: Read >Extract Subcodes pw >Extraction Nible >Read Max 4x >Create, edit BWA file Settings: Write >mode pw >Write Max 2x >Check, Use BWA File If Present PROST! ![]() |

| Errors? Ja! When exec shrtcut, it would spin up for at least 20 sec, in doing so, explorer would freeze *Not Responding*, and I would have to reboot system. Again, this was the BW5 backup. I also made an additional attempt with BW5 by first using BW5 Tweaker to no avail. Hope this helps |

| I used BW5 to back-up both 2 of these cds from MAX PAYNE 2. And it worked in just one try. As well as COD, LOTR: return of the king and Need For Speed: Underground. The only real problem I had was with LOTR: war of the ring which is the play cd. The back-up just would not work and all it does is spin for 20 sec. and stop. I already made three tries and ended up with three wasted cds. The reason for this three tries is because I was so amazed with BW5 copying all the games I mentioned above in one try that I cannot believe it choked on the play cd of LOTR: war of the ring. Nonetheless, Blindwrite... you guys are super. I'm a believer with your product and even way better I think than alcohol 120% in the prospect that I could not make a working back-up of COD but BW5 made it look so easy! Keep up the great job. ![]() |

This interests me greatly because I have been trying to make a perfect 1:1 copy of LOTR War of the Ring (Securom 4.85.07.0028) for the past week with no success. The nearest I can get is one that runs with Alcohol 120% RMPS emulation. My burners are ASUS 5224a and LiteOn 24102B. I have tried CloneCD, Blindwrite 4.2.5 and Alcohol experimenting with many different combinations of profiles,Twin Peak patching, creating BWA files with different hardware and at various speeds etc. No luck I would be really interested to know if anyone has successfuly backed this one up and what settings/hardware they used. From my perspective this appears to be a new uncopyable version of Securom as I have had no problems with any of the earlier versions. | |

| Try with the latest version of BW5 and see if the backups work. If not try lowering the read and write speed and then try again.

| I have tried to backup Max Payne 2, the MP2_PLAY disc. The SecuROM version on play disc is : 4.85.04.0018 NO GOOD with BW5 (even with Latest 5.0.3.119) I have tried different LG combo drive models : the GCC-4320B, GCC-4480B,GCC-4520B. I burned both cd's sucessfully at 4x speed without any errors, and installed it with the backups. Original Play fine, but the backup play disc wont run. Ive tried the twinpeak and the autoplay method with and without AWS without any success. Ive tried to use the Hide CDR ATIP from Alcohol & Clone CD. Any idea what could be wrong ? Are LG combo drives not supported anymore ? Thanks. |

| But it shouldnt matter what drive you have if you use autoplay. Do you run the game from the cd-writer or only a cd-reader?

| Genjai, I have tried the default autoplay method and used bwtweaker 1.4.1 to also try the twinpeak method. I just have cd-writers. (I dont think it's possible to just buy cd readers nowadays.) So i'm using CloneCD or Alcohol to hide the ATIP. I've just heard you could hide ATIP using Plextor Professional Tools using the option Hide CDR Media. Is this working well ? But I doubt it will work with LG drives... |

| No, i dont think Plextools is going to work on LG drives (I have LG drives and would love to be able to use Plextools) The reason i asked for a -rom (either cd or dvd) drive is because it isnt so sensible to errors as -writers and of course the atip rpoblem wouldnt be there

| Hello Genjai, Could you tell me what kind of LG drives you are using ? Also, which exact version of blindwrite or bwtweaker you used to backup maxpayne 2 play disc? The Install/Play disc install very fine. If im using the original play disc, the game loading correctly. (So i'm sure my devices aren't blacklisted) If i using the backup Play disc, the installshield appear and disapear right away. (all it does is cd-drive spinning for 20 sec. and stop) I used automatic settings with BW 5.02.113 all the way for the reading/writing. (Autoplay v4, Patin Couffin v16) But i noticed that this bw version had a very hard time to control the reading speed of that drive. I see speed control improvement with 5.0.3.119, but it's still showing writing speed 372 detected at an enforced 4x writing with Patin Couffin v17. BTW, i'm using Verbatim Re-Writable CD-RW 2x-4x to test.. |

| Just to let you now that if i'm using the DEAMON TOOLS 3.43 to mount the BW5 image (MP2_PLAY.B5T) over it's virtual drive, the game load very well!! I dont even need to use SecuROM Emulation. Emulation = All Option OFF. Any idea ? |

| Securom and BW I still use 4.2.5. to do Securom, although I haven't tried 5 yet. I used several versions after 4.2.5 and ended up going back every time. I burn with serveral different burners although they are all Lite-Ons. They work in burners and readers alike with no problems and no emulations. The only thing is that I make an MDS with Alcohol and then convert to BWA, and then burn image with BW. I can read at write at full speed. I do need emulation with SD2.9, but only in my burners. They work fine in DVD drives and regular CD-ROMs that I've tried with no emulation.

| BlindWrite 4.25& CloneCD\TwinPeak a success I too was successful backing up Max Payne 2:The Fall Of Max Payne using BlindWrite 4.25. CloneCD\TwinPeak Tool was also a success Reader was my LiteOn LDW-411S and also created my bwa file. I wrote DAO pw mode with "enable bwa file (if applicable) and backups plays flawlessly in both of my Litey drives. BlindWrite 5 was a failure Shoey ![]()

| Re: BlindWrite 4.25& CloneCD\TwinPeak a success I suspect VSO AutoPlay signature information getting blacklisted over the backup cdr. (They probably found a way to bypass the PcAtip.sys driver) If you are able to write without AutoPlay (using twinpeak method), then you are fine! Quote:
