HELP! Backup of Sony Vaio XP Media Center Edition 2005 upgrade DVD I have a much cherished version of the Sony Vaio XP Media Center Edition 2005 upgrade from Sony and found my 2 year old running around with it today. It is no longer available anywhere (not even by Sony) and i need to back it up!! I downloaded and used the latest blindwrite today and the dvd was unreadable. the log file from blindwrite looked fine but had 6/11/2006 10:39:10 PM warning Media topology ignored. the data DVD copy would not be read by my PC when it was done. I got "DISC NOT FORMATTED ERROR" this version was originally created by Q-media solutions. any thoughts or prayers?? If i lose this it is gone FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no way to buy a new one.. Seriously! ![]()

Try to read the media again with AnyDVD turned off / stopped ! I think at some point, the topology extraction failed if AnyDVD was enabled. I think it was the case, anyway, give it an other try ![]() Unless there is something wrong with your Source Media, that is unreadable. | |

Re: HELP! Backup of Sony Vaio XP Media Center Edition 2005 upgrade DVD Hi there, AnyDVD is a driver/software that people use to remove Commercial DVD Protections, so they can back them up. I read in the past, that having AnyDVD may cause Blindwrite not to read the topology properly. I am not sure if I right, was just an idea, but if you do not own AnyDVD, this is not the issue ![]() This CD "Sony Vaio XP Media Center Edition 2005 upgrade" should not be protected, it's not a game So if the media is in good shape, any CD copier should be able to copy it. My 2 cents...

Re: HELP! Backup of Sony Vaio XP Media Center Edition 2005 upgrade DVD i know that Q media uses copy protection. they also copy protect Rollercoaster tycoon 3. http://www.qmedia.ca/CDDVD.htm. you would think that it would not be CP'd but the CD is distributed and branded with SONY on it.

Re: HELP! Backup of Sony Vaio XP Media Center Edition 2005 upgrade DVD Does anyone have a working copy of this disk? I have a PCV RZ40CD and I didn't even know this update was available until now. I really would like to install the new media player 11 as well as other updates from Microsoft but I can't because I don't have 2005. I just got off the phone with Sony Customer support and they no longer have the update. He suggested asking for a copy from another VAIO owner who has the disk. I really want to upgrade to 2005. Please help! Thanks!
