Hi,

new to using convertx.

I added to 2 progs and setup menus etc, then left it to convert overnight, got up the next day and it was ready to burn, so i completed that.

once finished i then tested it first on my pc then on my dvd player and it would not work on either.

I cant find any setting or any threads on the forum that seem to relate to this, any help would be most appreciated.

Also I notice in the folder storing the converted files, its not one single dvd file thats created as i would have expected it to be, its lots of smaller dvd files within one of 2 folders created.

The files you're referring to are the DVD structure that will be burned to the disc, that's normal.
Please post your conversion log so we can see what's going on.

sorry for bein daft, but iv looked and cant find my conversion log, where is it located?

click on the help button at the top of the app and click on log file or something like that

Normally it's located in: C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\VSO\ConvertXtoDVD.log

Is PAL the correct format for you? I noticed your locale is set to United States...
Also, you might want to change of media. This (UME01) is considered 4th class media.

would that cause it to not work at all? i tried burning th files with nero too and it didnt work.

Try playing the DVD from hard drive by opening the VIDEO_TS.IFO file (from the folder ConvertX created) in your DVD player software. If that works it's probably the media/disc causing the problem.

ok tried that, it starts the nero showtime player, but the film never actually starts, just starts the nero then sits there doing nothing

Those media are 4th class media.

Use them for target shooting.

Don't waste your time with them, your just asking for trouble period.

Burning those at 4x, I don't expect them to work period...
