If you can't burn a copy of it, it's probably because it's having a hard time reading it. Again, I will assume it was burned on low quality media and/or burned too fast. What is the MEDIA ID of your disks ? Media ID can be found in the burn logs, and/or by using tools like VSO Inspector. Also, what speed do you burn those media ? Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim are top notch media. Media ID like CMC Mag are the elto crapo stuff on the market... My 2 cents... | |

Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD Not a burning problem. The media is Verbatim. Been using the LiteOn and BENQ burners for a long time with no problems. After burning with CXD the burned DVD runs on everything. However, it seems to have a problem reading back on the PC for making a copy. Somthing in the DVD that standalone players don't mind but is causing a fit with CloneDVD2, Nero, et al.

Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD There is nothing done by CXD that could cause this. All it does at burning stage is to create datadisk that contains video_ts folder. All files are normal datafiles, no protection or encryption. It must be your media.

Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD I think CloneDVD2 said it all when it complained that my post CXD generated files were not complaint. Big fat error message the moment I tried to input the CXD files to CloneDVD2. How I fixed it. I simply used FixVTS and the problem disappeared. You have to use this program and do a Full DVD on it and then its capable of being copied. FixVTS finds and repairs compliancy errors! http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FixVTS.htm

| Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD Hello, Please follow what I did using a downloadable sample. Then convert using CXD, and finally input the converted DVD into CloneDVD2, from Elaborate Bytes/Slysoft. | Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD I think it might be related to turning MENU generation OFF. Without the menu, you get a DVD that may work on a standalone player but has problems if you try to import it into certain software on a PC. Therefore, when you run the DVD files through FixVTS, it must find the bad links and repair them. CXD should be generating proper NO MENU DVDs. Just an opinion based on one experiment, FWIW! |

Copied files to desktop - no problems. Then I tried to make DVD-video from those files on DVD. No problem. Tried to burn it - no problem. Tried making DVD-video from those files with CopyTODVD - No problem. So far everything I tried has worked. With original and settings you used. (ok, language is different on CxD) Conclusion - there is something wrong with your system. I'd suggest full check for any adware, trojans etc. If none found, (or anyway!) complete re-install of windows. |

Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD >> Conclusion - there is something wrong with your system. << LOL! Nonsense. I have two friends who are experiencing the exact same problem. Their settings are identical to mine. They are also converting from a file which is usually MPEG1. But the problem exists with other inputs (e.g. PAL DVD Input). The example I gave is a simple DIVX file I found on the Internet and its not representative of bigger and more complex source files I've tried. One thing is for sure, CLONEDVD2 definitely coughs on the conversion of the sample. If you can't duplicate that, then you are not experiencing what some other users may be having for a problem. CLONEDVD2 ERROR: DVDManager 0 Common 0 4294967294 1 ALSO, DVDREMAKE PRO Genrates an Error Message. Like I said in another message, I think the problem MIGHT BE (but I'm not sure) the exclusion of a menu. I just haven't done enough testing. However, if I simply run VTSFIX on the DVD compliation from CXD, the problem goes away, with or without the menu. I'll get back if I find more information. Inthe interim, I have a fix. Thanks for your trying. Gary

Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD Hi Lapinou, I just dumped the log of DVDREMAKE PRO after it rejected the CXD generated DVD in the example I gave of the conversion of the Da Vinci Code Trailer DIVX download. THE DVDREMAKE PRO LOG: Importing DVD... Read DVD from: D:\CONVERTXTODVD\DaVinciCode_Trailer1\VIDEO_TS Read VMG vmg_last_sector != 0 (975:VMG.cpp) can't load VMG. Love the application and hope you can find a solution to make this great software invincible. Thanks, Gary

Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD OK. I downloaded 2.0.15.136 from a link in another thread, and it DID NOT fix my problem. CXD still gives errors when you import a CXD created project into DVDREMAKE and CLONEDVD2. Only FIXVTS program will repair the files. The problem has to do with setting NO MENUS in preferences. I gave an example of the problem, why is it not yet fixed if 2.0.15.136 is close to release? CXD Sample Test Clip: http://trailers.divx.com/Columbia/D...e_Trailer1.divx

Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD Gary - I just don't understand reason for this topic. Copying DVD made by CxD works just fine. You are trying to EDIT it again, and some programs cough right away. Question is: if you are trying to COPY disk - why are you using EDITING program? Sure I can get lots of errors and problems if I try funny things. Like converting 4 hours of episodes to one DVD5 and then run that output thru NeroExpress or other programs that are re-encoding - usually result does not fit to one disk.

Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD I never burn out of CXD. I mainly edit the project using another program like DVDRemake. The fact remains that there is a duplicatable bug in CXD. The bug should be fixable and the rest will be history. Sometimes other problems get solved with a bug fix to one specific problem. Its the serendipity effect in programming. This is a low level bug, and there is no questioning that. Because your receipe for creating DVDs is different from mine, does not negate my methods as insignificant. Beside, PORTMAC has already stated this same issue has been submitted previously. I am merely reporting that 2.0.15.136 beta does not solve the problem, YET!

Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD I originally had a copy problem that was augmented by an edit problem. Since editing is of higher importance to me, I switched the focus to editing. In fact, they are both branches rooted on the same problem. Ok, there is now an official new release of CXD on their web site, version 2.0.15.136. I tried it with the following clip: http://media.divx.com/comiccon/SatKlingonZog.divx Seems to still fail with CLONEDVD2.

Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD Something is badly wrong now. I downloaded and installed CloneDVD2 just to test this. Then I converted your exampleclip with CxD .15. Menu included, no chapters. No problems converting. Started CloneDVD2 - selected "create DVD", selected correct folder and wrote DVD. Tried again, selected "copy DVD", selected correct folder and wrote DVD. Converted again with forcing to PAL, included chapters. Back to CloneDVD2. I tried all options that are on CloneDVD2 first page, I tried that cut/edit that it has, I removed sound, included menu, discarded menu, everytime same result: No problems what so ever!

Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD >>Menu included, no chapters. No problems converting.<< >> No problems what so ever! << If you read my previous messages you will see that the problem only manifests itself when you have NO MENUS in preferences. I think VSO is aware of the problem and I'm sure they'll fix it. Its not earth shattering but its a bug. All I was doing was to report "hey VSO, the bug still exists with this latest release". Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut and not said anything.

Re: Copying a DVD made by CXD Okay, more testing revealed what is wrong: When there is no menu included, there is NO video_ts.vob. video_ts.ifo exists. Editors are looking for that .vob and fail because it is not there. VSO can fix this simply by making sure that video_ts.vob is written everytime.
