Copy2DVD Problem

This is a question from a newbie. I posted this elsewhere and just discovered this form. Help! I live in Maryland and just purchased Copy2DVD. Am using the lastest (Registered) version 2.11. Problem I have encountered: I can't burn to dvd. The app doesn't recognize that the drive has writable media loaded. The P-C engine test gives the same result--although during testing it recognizes cd's and dvd's with data, but no blank media is detected. I've tried dvd+r as well as dvd+rw blanks with no success. I've been having a good deal of difficulty communicating with Fabrice via ICQ. I've sent him the log to review also. Anyone have an idea what is going on with this problem? I'm using a Pentium III with Windows XP Pro. Appreciate any help or advice!

Perhaps your drive can only read and write DVD-R and DVD-RW formats. What drive do you have? Most commercial DVDs are -R which would explain why you could read ones with data on it. Try using these media types and post your results.

Same Problem Here!

My registered copy worked fine for several weeks but I can't burn anymore since I have upgraded to the newer version of COpytoDVD this morning...

It doesn't recognize blank DVD's anymore. I tried to switch back to the previous version without success and even updated firmware on my LG burner (GSA-4040B).

Do not know what the problem is. Any one with a suggestion?

The 4040B (fmw A301) works fine with version 2.4.13 over here...
Did you insert the media before, or after launching CopyToDVD?

If you insert it before, and make sure it has been detected by the drive (led stopped blinking) it should be correctly detected by C2D also.

It works with v. 2.4.13

I updated with version 2.4.13 (it was mislabled as version 2.4.11 on the Web site when I dowloaded the file) as recommended and it is now working perfectly.

Thanks to Fabrice Meuwissen of vso for a quick and efficient technical support!

Same problem

I'm having the same problem with the media. I was using Copy2DVD for awhile with no problems. Then all of a sudden I get a media error and my drive does not recognize my blank media. I am using the Sony DRU510A and Memorex DVD-R media. I downloaded the latest version of Copy2DVD yesterday and still have problems. Please help

Figured it out

I'd first like to thank everyone for their help. I took a little bit of everyones advice. I basically updated all the versions of my software. I downloaded the latest version of DVD Shrink, Copy2DVD and my firmware. Then I deleted the software that comes bundled with a lot of my movies (can't remember the name). After doing all this I was able to burn successfully. Well actually out of 5 burns, 3 were success. So thanks again to Ken and kamikazee especially

I have the exact same problem EVEN after updating the writer firmware to the latest revision (A302)!!! I tried with DVD+RW, DVD-R and CopyToDVD states "insert recordable media...blah,blah,blah...." As a matter of fact, it is the only application to exhibit such odd behaviour in my PC, the others (InCD, Clone, Nero, etc) see the media
Can you mail me a solution please?
