You have the Video Standard set to Automatic.

It should be set (Forced) to PAL or NTSC.
You can change this is the settings

I assume you need PAL (Europe) since it came out NTSC and you had issues

Movie Clip is just a description for your .MPG file.

ConvertXtoDVD will convert all those .MPG, .AVI etc....

My DVD player can handle both NTSC and PAL formats.So why is it not reading the DVD?Also what is the difference between .mpg and .mpeg video files?If my DVD player is reading .mpg files,can it read mpeg2 files.Lately my DVD burner is not recognizing CD RW or DVD RW discs,therefore I am not able to test in a DVD RW disc.Also I thought that avi filles are larger than mpg files.Whan I converted an 60MB avi fille to mpg format it became 150 MB.So how can I convert an avi file to mpg format without loss in quality? I converted the same video files with setting set toTV Type - PAL and burned the DVD folder as a data DVD with NERO with 8X speed.My DVD Player is now recognizing the disc and playing ok.I think it would also work ok if I burn it with
ConvertXtoDVD.Thanks again, specially to cougar_ii.

My question (reviving this thread from the dead) is,
I have a dozen AVIs I would like on a dvd, yet the menu option allows, at most, 10 per page. Does this mean that it will present me with more than one page, so by selecting six, I will have two pages with six menu items each?

yup you got it, but you should see this in the preview window. also look in the settings under the tab "menu"

Can someone please tell me what setting I have to have ticked so that convertxtoDVD joins a film that is in 2 parts eg cd & cd 2...

click sequential play back in the menu and it will play them one right after another.

Just wondered if anybody had any ideas as to whats wrong/what i'm doing wrong here.

Ok ..... i have an AVI that came with seperate .SUB file ... so i followed the instructions to the letter for using ConvertXtoDVD, but as i add the file, in the log section it says...........

skipping subtitle file "VIDEONAME.sub".Reason:Empty or unsupported format.

If i try to add it manually i get the same msg.
I thought it might be a problem with the sub file so i tried another avi and .sub combo that i have, and im getting the same response....

?????? ANY IDEAS ANYONE ??????

You need to use correct subtitle format.
There are about a dozen different formats using .sub extension.
Correct one here is .sub WITH .idx file.

I have Death Proof and Planet Terror and I want to use Convertx to DVD to put both movies on one DVD.

1. How do I do that so That they play one right after another without me having to do anything.

2. Can I separate them still so they are two separate movies in the Menu?

3. This is possible right?

You have said how large the files are? If the size of the files are over 4.3 gig you will have to compress them first. You may want to use a D/L disc that can hold about 8gbs of video with out compression. Its not easy to put 2 full movies on 1 DVD unless they are already in .avi or mpeg.4 format. If you already have these movies why do you need to convert them. Are these dvds you own?

I realize the files will not fit on a 4.7gb cd. I'm going to be using a double layered 8.5gb cd.

I have these videos in .divx and .xvid format.

I did not know that Death Proof and Planet Terror were ever released in that format.

I got them from a friend who somehow got them in that format.
