Now i got a problem with ConvertXtoDVD, because it always encodes to ntsc, no matter what settings i use. i set the video standard to pal by default (in settings -> tv-format), but still in the source details it says 'auto-target: Ntsc 29.97fps, pulldown required'

Why is that so, and how come i cannot change the format?

Nothing wrong - it shows what it would convert if left to automatic.

well, the converted dvd is ntsc which i did not want, even i set it to pal (not automatic).

If this is still a problem for you, can you post a log file? (you will find it here C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Vso
