Championship Manager 0304 + BW 5.02.113

I've tried using the trial of this to backup the new championship manager 0304 game.

Its listed in the protection forum as Securom New and this is exactly what ClonyXXL reported.

Thinking that Securom New was OLDER than the 4.8x versions I thought that this should be easy enough to copy.

I scanned and burnt this using my LiteOn 52327s but none of the copies I have made will run the game.

I have made the following copies:

Imaged + burnt with LiteOn 52327s QS0B firmware with BW 5.02.113.
Image from QS0B but burnt with QS0C firmware with BW 5.02.113.
Imaged + burnt with LiteOn 52327s QS0C firmware with BW 5.02.113.
Imaged + Patched + Burnt using LiteOn 52327s QS0C firmware with Alcohol 1.47.1005 + Device drive patch v2.3.3.1022.

Anybody got this working?

If you don't own it then copy it is illegal as it bascially becomes stolen.

We do own the copy. He bought it from GAME for a rip off price of £29.99 (beh... might as well return it and get it for £18 from amazon).

My brother is only upstairs from me but he wants to play the game asap. I usually make a backup for him to use and then keep hold of the original (he's careless with CD's and often ends up scratching them or loosing them in his room).0

Took me ages to be able to get the forums to work just to reply
Have they been down recently?

http://server4.uploadit.org/files/281103-BW5.Log

Full log as I have only used BW for CM 0304 at the moment.

I have the following drives that I can use in a different combination for image/burning purposes:

Toshiba SD-M 1402 XY14
LiteOn 52327S - QS0C
Sony DRU 500AX - 2.0G

You need to figure out what version of securom it is. Anything before 4.84 does not need to have topology extracted. Get the protection version first.

Well I don't know exactly what it is using as ClonyXXL says Securom New as does the post in the CD proections forum:
http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread....threadid=80197

If it is using the old Securom NEW protection then shouldn't this be copyable??

I've tried to do an install scan but it doesn't find anything in the exe files and then won't read past a png file (from one of the data folders). Yates says it can't find Securom or Safedisc on either the installed exe or the cd exe.

I'm miffed at the moment.

I ran the system monitor on ClonyXXL and it picked up SecuROM New > 4.78.XX

Is there a log for Clony that will give the full string? or does this mean clony can't read the exact version?

Might be worth changing the protection list forum's post to this rather than SecuROM *new*.

Previous versions of Championship Manager Season 0x/0y have been ProtectCD

Championship Manager X is SecuROM. Last one was v-4.84.69 0101 for "4"

It's definately SecuROM but I none of the tools I have tried find the version.

Protection ID 4.1 just says it's SecuROM and that's as close as I can get.

I've tried looking for the version with a hex editor but I am not sure what I am looking for (not used Hex editor to look before).

How much of an affect would be the media quality on the backups of a secuROM *new* 4.84.xx game?

Everybody strives to get a good BWA/Topology extraction but, when burning, does the quality/refectiveness of the media affect the reading of the "wobbles"??

I know that to some extent that media will always play a part in the backup's quality. I have made all of my attempts to burn CM0304 using:

Datawrite 40x Silver Premium by Datasafe.

Drive Type = CD-RW
Disc Type = CDR
Material = Cyanine
Lead In = 97:15:12
Lead Out = 79:59:73
Nominal Capacity = 702.83MB
Manufacturer Maybe = RiTEK,S
Smart-Burn Speed Limit = 52X(Write)

I also have some 48x Taiyo Yuden media that I have yet to use in an attempt at a working backup.

Drive Type = CD-RW
Disc Type = CDR
Material = Cyanine
Lead In = 97:24:01
Lead Out = 79:59:72
Nominal Capacity = 702.83MB
Manufacturer Maybe = Taiyoyuden,DX Dye
Smart-Burn Speed Limit = 52X(Write)

Is topology extraction occurring? Can you post a log?
