Slow down the burn speed to 4x, and even 2x if still having issues !

Based on this site --> http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
those are pretty good quality media but I would still slow it down to 4x.

I personally never burn above 4x !

Re: Can not connect to access layer?

Great thanks for all your hepl cougar you really sound like you know what your doing,,,wish I did!!!

Anyway its all working great on 4X and just making my second copy of my slide show.

Have a huge question though

Im tooooo afraid the do that upgrade with the firmware for my two burners, please advise

A year ago I had a guy on here who helped me heaps and he guided me through FLASHING my burner (excuse me if I use the wrong words) and making it into a better quality one. I dont think this was really allowed by the manufacturer I really dont know. If I do that firmware you have suggested would I create a problem with the one that I have?

I really dont understand enough about it and would hate to cause a major problem and loose all that I now have?

Would appriciate your feed back.

Cheers

Re: Can not connect to access layer?

Hi there,

When it comes to firmware, here's what I think.

Having the latest firmware can't hurt.

Is there risks flashing a drive ?
Yes, just like crossing the street

If you are NOT having issues with the current media you have, you probably won't need to upgrade.

A firmware upgrade is usually needed when you are a few versions behind, and you are using some new 16x media that your old firmware doesn't recognize.

So, if you are not sure about flashing, don't do it

You seem to have success with that version and those media.
