| Why do you need that? If you want to create a MDS, you can use Alcohol 120% and your original disc.

| Yes, Alcohol 120% supports reading BWA files as they're a subset of the much better and accurate MDS. But it can't create BWA.

No one from the alcohol team will back that statement with fact, they say try it yourself and see, I have, with no difference here. Or they will just say because we say so. It doesn't make any difference for me whether I use alcohol to create an MDS or Blindwrite to create a BWA, either one is just as accurate as the other IMO. Blindwrite will take an MDS and convert it to a BWA, Alcohol will not convert a BWA to an MDS. I don't believe alcohol will ever offer that option, they may prove me wrong but I doubt it. I believe the reason to be what is quoted above, but I could be wrong.

This is because Alcohol fully supports BWA files and uses them as if it was a MDS file as long as you use Blindwrite standard image files. Ofcourse Alcohol uses MDS as its control file. Blindwrite has BWT file for the same thing. The difference is that Blindwrite stores the media density information in a "new" BWA file whereas, Alcohol stores the information in its allready existing MDS file. This makes it tricky for a BWA ---> MDS conversion. Last edited by Bulk; 14-03-2003 at 01:38.

| MOO3 Copy Help I followed this thread but still have not seen a solution that someone claims works. I currently have BlindWrite 3.4 and a burner that is supposedly good for duping CDs. (BTC) What software can I use to make a reliable backup of the MOO3 dics? Also, where can I download the older version of BlindWrite, I could not find it on their website. Thx, CC |

| how do you transfer BWA images to MDS images please explain how i can use blindwrite ( BWA images ) and convert them to MDS files on ALcohol? Do they need to be saved into a directory of some sort so when i..... to make a long story short will these BWA files appear on alcohols mds image log, so i ccan then just click the newly converted image (BWA) and burn it onto disc? hope this makes sense TO MUCH COFFEE LOL ![]() |

| Two things for you. Firstly BlindWrite has just released a new version of BWABuilder for all registered users. You can find it on the downloads page. Secondly I don't think you can convert BWA to MDS. I belive BWA is a subset of MDS which is why you can convert MDS to BWA but not the other way round.
