OK I have tried it on some other CD's and works fine.. Seems that somehow the protection Slovak that is an exe protection blocks BWA completely from running. I didn't know BWA Builder did a log also.

Seems no matter what I set. This cd's topology can not be read and the automatic setting says it's not required.. seems the protection on it is preventing topology. Any ideas?

well you first need to update to newest blindwrite .

www.vso-software.fr

then try to run it again. remember unistall older version and reboot and install new. Then try to backup the cd again

also what chipset are you running ? I also notice your plex drive the new one.

also I just read your log ? your post says you used plex premium but in your log it says your using plex 708a . May I ask which one your using ? Also Topology extraction doesn't work with PX-708, this is a known issue. It will be fixed in the next release.

also what game is this ? i never heard of it and it is exactlly 666 mb?

Naw, Chaser also used this Slovak, it is just an encryption to try to hide what protection being used on the game.

I own both the Plextor Premium and the PX-708A and they both did the exact same thing.

Mainboard is the Asus NForce2 A7N8X-DX with bios version 1007.

Norton Systemworks 2003 Pro and I actually deactivated the auto protect for trying to create the image.

Game is called Brave Soul and it's a bishoujo role playing game.

size: 420 MB (440,838,848 bytes)
size on disk: 421 MB (441,804,800 bytes)

Log attempt with newer version installed...

It can't read the topology and always says it doesn't require it. BTW I have determined this to be a problem with reading of the last track. I have read this cd in CD Inspector and it reports the Lead Out exactly where BWA Builder reports it to be at (287050) but CD Inspector reports it at (287803). I am posting the information from CD Inspector below...

Now for test I used my Startcop software and disabled nearly every running software that starts up automatically and no change. I have also Alcohol, Blindwrite 4.5.7.x, and GameJack installed that I was using to try to create a topology and everyone of these failed to create a topology. They fail to read the cd when a topology is created. Nero 6 is also installed as my normal default burning software.

Oh just for a test I tried chaning from the patin drivers to aspi and the same thing happens. I than tried setting end sectors to a shorter number 216000 and with patin it still failed to run but with aspi drivers it seems to be running it on that portion of the cd fine.

Old BWA Builder is a bit buggy. Wait for new version. Until then why don't you use BlindWrite v5 to make topology ???

R!co notice that is the problem. BW5 doesn't think a topology is required.. and when I used the tweaker to force topology it fails to extract with the error.

no matter what speed I choose for Topology.

molitar ,

just wonder when you are using blindwrite version 5 I just noticed in last file you posted that it has alot of audio tracks. So curious can you use blindwrite 5 and just go to copy and copy with plex premium and write with same drive . So source and destination will be same drive. you dont need Topology on this at all cause it is not securom. I have frogger which has alot of audio tracks listed below . I did mine with version 4 and version 5 of blindwrite.

here is TOC from frogger using blindwrite versoin 4

Ok I tried using Blindwrite 4.5.7 bwa builder on a system at work that has no extra software installed. It doesn't have a writer just a DVD Rom.. The BWA builder had the same exact results.. anything greater than 217750 for end sector makes the drive sit their and do nothing.. BWA won't respond even after hitting stop UNTIL I manually eject the cd than BWA will finally recognise the stop command.

It's executable is protected by Slovak Protect which seems to hide the CDR Protection type also.

Can you try to just copy the game with either bw4 and dont do bwa or blindwrite 5 and just use the copy tab and use plex drive . I dont think you need a BWA but still doing more research. I beginning to think it dont have a protection but i could be wrong . Also if you use blindwrite 5 you can just cancel out of topology and then go and write it . I would try what is above and see if you get a working copy

slovak is not a protection . It is an ecyption.

This is the game you are trying to copy, right?? I doubt this kind of a game has a copy protection on it...................

cmr2004x yes it is.. but US version from www.peachprincess.com is more expensive. With shiping was nearly $55.00 and want to protect my game investment.. For one I hate playing with originals.. and secondly with over 200 totals gigs of storage rather not even have to use CD especially when game only requires it for startup which just puts it at that much risk for scratches.

Not that this will help right now, not using this same title I am able to reproduce a similar problem to yours. But looking at your logs there are a couple of things that stand out.
1:11/18/2003 11:11:40 PM info Autoplay driver active. Version 2
2:11/18/2003 11:11:40 PM info Using ASPI dll in "C:\Program Files\vso\BlindWrite\NtAspi32.Dll" version 5, 0, 0, 0 (although further up your log it is the correct driver)
3:11/18/2003 11:12:03 PM error There is not enough free space on the HDD to contain the extracted image.
There are a couple of them that stand-out.
Now, your not using SP4? Are your IDE controllers set to DMA?
None of this will help for BW5 right now, there is a problem extracting topology because of the Slovak Encryption, my logs have been forwarded to the developer for both XP and 2000 SP4, he should have it fixed in the next couple of days. BW4 should be able to do this tho in both XP and 2000 SP4.
You will need to uninstall both BW5 and BW4, the auto-play version should be version 4 not 2. when you get them uninstalled reinstall 5 first restart and then install 4 again, and then try to use 4 to make your back-up. Hopefully this will get you there or closer.
