Do you have a firewall running? If so disable it and try again.

the same happend with this one.
It cannot be thrue, that you have to disable your firewall for burning an cd or dvd
other programs do not requere this????

Look in your logs: start, control panel, administrative tools, event viewer and then system and application logs, see if there is a clue to the reboots in there. And then check the blindwrite logs. It's hard to keep up with two threads covering the same topic fella's

It may not be true, just a starting point, my firewall gave me fits, there called bugs, and the firewall affected me, so it's just a starting point. and it's just a certain firewall that affects me, so it may not effect you.

Hi,

I am running BW 5.0.5.120 .... My system has Asus P4B266 Motherboard, P4 1.6 GHZ, 768 mb DDR ram, Leadtek 64mb G-force 4 Video Card, Liteon LTR-40125S ZS0R, Pioneer DVR-106D 107.

I had countless reboots on my system after installing BW 5.0.4 and again with 5.0.5.

What i did notice in the log that no Autoplay Drivers seemed to be running at all after installing BW and rebooting the system.

So that was when i re-installed Standalone Autoplay drivers v4 which on my system fixed the constant rebooting when trying to read a disk.

I am using a firewall i did turn it off while i was trying to figure out what was happening, but for me the firewall was not what seemed to cause any of my rebooting problems as i turned it back on in the end and then made a working Securom 4.85 backup with firewall running !!.

I was curious about the write speed issues which have not changed it still writes at max speed even though i selected the slow option.

One other thing i was unsure of was what version of Autoplay drivers was 5.0.4 and 5.0.5 meant to have ??.

I don't know if the BW Team have made some newer version of these drivers that install with the program.

But if they are meant to install with the program for me they don't unless they are now hidden from the log or something.

I only see the drivers after installing the standalone v4 drivers.

Hi,

More issues with VSO software that i have noticed.

I installed the latest trial version of copytodvd then I rebooted computer as is requests and then I tried to read a disk again with BW 5.0.5 it went back to rebooting as soon as I press read.

I don't know for sure but i don't think copytodvd installs Autoplay drivers I know it installs the patin-couffin cd layer.

So I then tried installing the standalone patin-couffin setup rebooted computer and all is well again no more rebooting for me anyway.

So there seems to be problems with Autoplay and Patin-Couffin but I have been able to get it working each time.

It's only after installing a new version of BW or CopyToDVD that changes are made to Autoplay and Patin Couffin but maybe i am lucky that i can just install the standalones of Autoplay after installing BW and Patin-Couffin Setup after installing CopyToDVD and everything works fine untill the next update but i hope BW Team can work out what is happening here and fix the problem..

Hope this helps Is this working for anyone else besides me ???

this may be a problem with copytodvd and bw5.0.5.120 on same computer seems like as on my laptop that doesnt have copytodvd and i dont get this on the laptop with 5.0.5.120.

the lack of looking for a ini file makes me wonder..im going to fully uninstall and delete all directories of bw and copytodvd and reinstall just bw5.0.5.120 and see what happens.

In your last post here your log has no Autoplay Drivers listed.

That's how mine was too aftering installing BW 5.0.5

I then installed standalone Autoplay v4 now my log shows

Autoplay driver active. Version 4

--------------------------------------------------------

Has anyone had any success with lowering the write speeds I have the setting set to slow but it always writes at top speed
reguardless of the setting.

Nope, this should not be the problem but...I have tried for the last two days to produce this problem and have failed at it so far.
The current version of copytodvd should be 2.4.5.248
The current version of blindwrite should be 5.0.5.120
I did encounter one problem and that was with my firewall, but has since been fixed.
did you guys look in your windows logs, there should be some type of clue listed there.

Maybe and then again maybe not, this problem has not been able to be reproduced yet and I have asked you to look in your windows logs (if your using XP) and no one has seen fit to do it, since they cannot reproduce the problem it makes it tougher and we need just a little more help, if it is a bug they want to fix it but need more information than you are willing to provide or just don't want to help out with, the logs please.

Ok, you guys no the drill,
Firmware all current?
Software Installed?
Drivers Current?
we need to find the common denominator, since it would appear only you 4 are having the problems.
