| BW 5.0.5 sucks (at least with my PC ;) ) I tried out the new 5.05 version with NOLF2 disc 1 (Securom 4.8x). The crappy results were: Pioneer DVD-Rom115, Toshiba XM 6401 and Plexwriter 124TS do not read a single sector and BW spits out 'Drive not ready for extraction' or similar. On my Ultraplex40 it's even worse. When clicking the read button the whole Bus resets and my PC completely freezes (W2k+SP4+all latest Hotfixes). Somehow I am very unlucky since BW software has always sucked on my PC Anyone from BW Team willing to find a solution with me? Quote:

| Hello all, I found that by manually installing the AUTOPLAY v4 drivers after installing BW 505 seems to fix the problem, as far as the computer rebooting is concerned anyway. And I have made a working Securom 4.85.07.0056 backup with the above being done on my system. I hope this helps. Good Luck. Last edited by blakesim; 16-12-2003 at 15:58. |

For the rest of you guys, look in your logs: start, control panel, administrative tools, event viewer and then system and application logs, see if there is a clue to the reboots in there. And then check the blindwrite logs. Are any of you guys getting the reboots using a firewall? | |
