VSO Software Discuss, BW 5.0.5 sucks (at least with my PC ;) ) at Burning Software forum; I tried out the new 5.05 version with NOLF2 disc 1 (Securom 4.8x). The crappy results were: Pioneer DVD-Rom115, Toshiba XM 6401 and Plexwriter 124TS do not read a single sector and BW spits out 'Drive not ready for extraction' or similar. On my Ultraplex40 it's

BW 5.0.5 sucks (at least with my PC ;) )

I tried out the new 5.05 version with NOLF2 disc 1 (Securom 4.8x).

The crappy results were:
Pioneer DVD-Rom115, Toshiba XM 6401 and Plexwriter 124TS do not read a single sector and BW spits out 'Drive not ready for extraction' or similar.
On my Ultraplex40 it's even worse. When clicking the read button the whole Bus resets and my PC completely freezes (W2k+SP4+all latest Hotfixes).

Somehow I am very unlucky since BW software has always sucked on my PC

Anyone from BW Team willing to find a solution with me?

Hello all,

I found that by manually installing the AUTOPLAY v4 drivers after

installing BW 505 seems to fix the problem, as far as the

computer rebooting is concerned anyway.

And I have made a working Securom 4.85.07.0056 backup with

the above being done on my system.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck.

Open BW5 and then go into options and then the General tab about half way down you will see writing speed, hit the drop down and you should find fast, medium and slow use that see if it slows it down for you.

For the rest of you guys, look in your logs: start, control panel, administrative tools, event viewer and then system and application logs, see if there is a clue to the reboots in there. And then check the blindwrite logs. Are any of you guys getting the reboots using a firewall?

manual install of Autoplay 4 does not resolve my problems.

Anyway: Guys, please leave my topic ON topic.

And DrQ, it's nice to find another Jagged Alliance player here

It would appear this is still on topic with the exception of one thing, did you check your logs?

DrQ's speed problem
