Burning Problem with ConvertXToDVD

The conversion worked fine but than it started burning and this came up( this is in order from last to first):

Media removed. Burning layer not ready to write
Write error at 0(16)- Code 02 30 05 [Cannot write medium, incompatible format]
Write started 1814096 sectors to write
Init success: DVD-R packet writing

It would be helpful if someone could assist me with this problem.

Re: Burning Problem with ConvertXToDVD

Welcome to CD Freaks.

Memorex is a highly questionable media & best to avoid.

What burner do you have, what other video/burning apps do you have installed (like Nero for example) & what is the media code of the Memorex discs? This latter piece of info can be obtained using Nero's CD-DVD Speed with the disc info tab. This can be obtained here if you don't already have it.

I'm concerned by the "DVD-R packet writing" line. This might suggest that you have something like Nero's InCD installed. Do you?

Hey,

As mentioned above, Memorex are real cheap quality media.

Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or most media made in Japan are 1st class quality media.

ConvertXtoDVD can write DVD-R in 2 methods.

Packet Writting
*or*
Session at once (SAO)

In the settings, I have enabled [X] Use SAO for DVD-R.

On most burners, both method should work !

Re: Burning Problem with ConvertXToDVD

I think the AM3 is a fairly new dye & I suspect that your burner (you haven't said which one) just can't recognise the media. You may well need a firmware upgrade.

Re: Burning Problem with ConvertXToDVD

I fixed the problem by myself last night by updating my firmware. Thanks for trying to help though. I burned a DVD last night with the Memorex also(and it worked fine) but got a 25-pack Verbatim today.
