Hi,

I want to use Blindwrite (v5.2.10.142) with BW5tweaker.

I've installed v1-5.6 version of BW5tweaker and when
i try to "Run Blindwrite" form BW5tweaker, nothing
happens.

Does anybody have the same problem and is there an
incompatibility between these 2 versions (of Blindwrite
and the BW5tweaker).

How to use tweaker to burn? I use to use 4.5.7 but since my dvd-writer that I have now is not recognised by it I have to use this crappy dumbed down Blindwrite 5. So now how do I use tweaker to burn this?

Instructions to burn this cd.

1. blindwrite 4.5.7.92
2. Uncheck Autoplay support
3. Uncheck Enhance weak sectors
4. Verify Image
5. Burn DAO+PW @ 10-12x
6. Answer YES to burn the BWA Physical information

So would I in the tweaker just do the following?

1. Tab 1 --> uncheck include autoplay info
2. Tab 1 --> CD Write Speed to 10x
3. Tab 2 --> Select the BWA file in Topology
4. Tab 2 --> Leave Topology info to Automatic

Leave rest at default to do the same thing? I really hate that we don't have any control of the new BW5 without running Tweaker. Also the log file still shows backup tagged for autoplay with the settings above.

5. Tab2 --> Chosse 'Never extract' at 'Read Topology'; otherwise the maybe bad Topology stored in your B5T file will be used instead of your BWA

I'd like to thank Rico for this little jewel.
If you're still looking for suggestions, I have an idea which you may like.

Since the person who will use BW5Tweaker will use it to do only one of 3 things: Read, Write or both (i.e. copy), why not remove (gray out) the options that are not valid for the selected operation?

I'm suggesting a remake of the interface, where the user MUST first select the operation (Read, Write, Copy), then create 2 tabs: Read and Write which contain all the options for the respective operation ONLY. So if the user wants to Read a CD, the Write tab will not be available and vice-versa. Of course both tabs will be available if a Copy operation is requested, or perhaps you can create a 3rd tab which contains both read and write options, plus any options applicable only to a copy operation.

I think it would make BW5Tweaker a bit more user-friendly for those of us who only use it occasionally (and forget a lot by the next time they need to use it).

What do you think?

can you change the path of the bw5.ini from %windir% to eg. %temp% or the working-dir?

when a user dont work as admin (no write access to the win-dir), the tweaker can't write the settings to the file and bw is loaded with the default settings.

I can't get to the download links for the tweaker anymore. Can anyone supply them to me? I finally puchased a good Plextor DVD+-RW that can read RAW sectors, and that's not an option in BW5 anymore! How can I get it to read raw sectors including bad ones with the tweaker?

ive read in earlier posts that bw5 tweaker starting from 1.2 or something like that, R!co started adding profiles for burning popular copy protections. Wherebouts are these profiles that i choose? Is it under basic settings, bottom left? Because i have nothing in the drop menu there. i have version 1.5.6

Rico I just downloaded BW5tweaker 1.5.6, and it won't open my full version of blindwrite 5, and it's the latest. Maybe it's the fact that the only download of it I could find is just the exe file, is there any link available that I can get the install of BW5tweaker?

Does the tweaker still work with the latest version of Blindwrite? Because I always select "Don't split image", but Blindwrite still splits the image.

I have a problem writing topology on a DVD.I start the Tweaker and in the topology tab set never extract for read topology and write with autoplay for write topology but it doesn't write the topology.I am using Blindwrite 6 and Sony DRU-830A DVD writer.
