Well, you could try the "Turn Decrypt On" setting in BW5Tweaker

I've tried that with a couple of DVDs - BW5Tweaker 155 no longer seems to work with BW5 5.1.1.128

@4wd
Did that option work for you?
And the last tweaker is having some problems (R!Co know this and I'm sure he will fix this when he has the time)

@madsang
What DVD are you trying to copy?
What version of BW5 and BW5Tweaker have you tried with?

No, it still says 'Copy prohibited' and won't let me do anything.

You can also try to use dvd43 (it uses patin-couffin which you probably already have )
DVD43 removes the css protection on-the fly which will allow BW5 to copy it
download it here
install it, run it, then use BW5 to copy the DVD

There's an idea, thanks :)

I was hoping to avoid other software like AnyDVD, etc, but this sounds OK.

Well I downloaded & installed it, it went through all it's tricks when a DVD was inserted but BW5 still shows 'Copy prohibited'.

I've checked that the patin-couffin driver is installed and working.

I'm starting to think it might be a problem with BW5 and/or driver rather than BW5Tweaker.

The DVD is a region 4, (Australia), single sided DVD5. The drive is a LiteOn JLMS-166S with RPC1 firmware.

Of course this is all acedemic now as my DVD writer, (LG GSA-4040B), has just bit the dust :(

To test if DVD43 is working, you can use dvd-decrypter to copy the files from the dvd to your hard-drive and watch if dvd-decrypter uses any keys when it copies

Is the DVD43 systray a green smile?
Sorry about your drive

Yes. I've uninstalled it now so will have to get back to you.

A trifle annoying - it's still under warranty but of course I bought it in the USA when I was there and LG Australia couldn't give a toss, (I'll send it back to my mate in the USA).

So much for 'Globalisation' - what a crock..... :(

OK, reinstalled DVD43 and tried it with DVD Shrink 3.1.6.0 - which reports that the DVD is not encrypted.

If I close DVD43 then DVD Shrink displays an encryption key.

So this kind of proves that DVD43 and the patin-couffin driver (1.9) is working correctly.

The problem must lie with BW5 since it says the DVD is still 'Copy prohibited' even with DVD43 running.
