Sorry, I didn't have time to do the tests y'ouve asked for (And I'm out of CDRs too) but what about ProfessorX first question ?

In fact, when testing autoplay on and off, I got the same output in the logs:

"Autoplay(tm) : Physical media informations embedded"

So I supposed that Autoplay wasn't switched off...

but the "hide cdr media" emulation in clone cd and equivalent in deamon tools or alcohol etc is "turn off and onable".

lapinou,

Can I make a suggestion that the autoplay configuration be separated and renamed to "game emulation" (not sure on legal implications though) to avoid confusion.
1. Have the *playback* part controllable in the blindread configration
2. Have the written part controllable in the blindwrite configuration

cheers

personally i think its better to be named autoplay, coz as soon as u say emulation people (especially newbies who just discovered dt) are just gonna think of daemon tools instead.

also correct me if im wrong, but form what i understand when u install blindwrite, the only controllable part of autoplay is whether it burns the autoplay information used to fake the sectors or use twin sectors? in other words, it's not possible to disable autoplay from checking the cds to see if it has autoplay sectors and use that to fake the sectors?

lastly, instead of separating the autoplay options in between read and write, there should just be the option in blindwrite config called autoplay support which when enabled uses autoplay, disabled uses twin sectors. then there should be a config called autoplay settings outside of blindwrite (where u just go start/programs/blindwrite/autoplay config) and this would have 2 options:

box 1: when box 1 is checked, it turns on the autoplay verify, which just checks the cds that are inserted to see if there is autoplay data when u run a securom game, if unchecked, it will just read the cd normally, ignoring any autoplay options

box 2: when checked it turns on hide atip, which works like the ccd tray and hides the atip on cds, when off it will allow atip reading in the burner.

when both boxes are unchecked, autoplay is disabled, as if u didnt even have it installed. this is good coz u dont have to have a tray icon and it's separate form blindwrite itself, which would prolly work better for the standalone autoplay filter and it is separate from the options in blindwrite that actually applys to burning cds which again wont confuse ppl that are new.

I agree with salil about the fact that Autoplay config (for the "replay" part) should be located outside Blindwrite. Why not in the control panel, as you did for Patin-Couffin ?
BTW, when burning, Blindwrite should tell the user which method was used for BWA: TwinPeaks or Autoplay.

Anyway, it seems to work for now... It can wait for next year

looks like the Alcohol team have answered my suggestions already!

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread....threadid=60877

it'll be interesting to see how it performs...

but it still doesn't write twin sectors, only "emulate" them.

Q. Does blindwrite 4.2.7 actually write twin sectors like v4.2.4 does???

all versions of blindwrite write them, 4.2.5 just adds the emulate function. run blidnwrite, then slect the burn cd logo, then hit blindwrite configuration then hit next then deselect autoplay then hit next, then burn ur cd. When autoplay is selected it emulates the sectors, when autoplay is disabled it writes them.

thx salil, but i wish the logs described this more clearly as they used to (see my earlier reply), which added to my confusion!!

I'm sure that i've tested 4.2.7 with this autoplay diabled and it still writes this "blindwrite patch", and that these backups (on cdrw) didn't work unless I enabled the option.

i dunno, try 4.2.8 with autoplay off... i just use autoplay all the time coz my drives cant read twin sectors at all. what would be great is when u select the image to burn that maybee a dialog will pop up saying the bwa is found and will be used, that way u know for sure its selected.
