Blindwrite 5 image plugin for daemon tools

UPDATE
Updated to version 1.0.5
Changelog:
- Added code so that angles from bwa file are used if bwa file exists (thanks ghost_zero5)
- Removed layer fix (new blindwrite writes layer descriptors correctly)
- Fixed a bug with multi-file images
- Fixed problem with multi-track images and StartLBAOffset

Blindwrite will only read first peak of securom and this causes problems for certain discs (dual-layer Act of War). You can use bwa builder to make full bwa file. Copy that file (e.g., AOW.BWA) to same dir as b5t file (e.g., AOW.B5T) and mount. Angles will be taken from bwa file even if they are present in b5t file.

To install:
Unzip to "C:\program files\d-tools\plugins\images" (change to your relevant install directory). If you're overwriting an old version, you'll need to close the tray icon first.
Attached Files bw5mount.zip (3.5 KB, 4 views)

[Original Post
I've written a plugin to allow mounting of b5t files in daemon tools. You will need dtools 3.43 (download).

Please post feedback on success/failure with the plugin. If any errors occur during mounting, please attach b5t (~ 20 kb) file and indicate version of blindwrite image was made with.]

You should not need to enable rmps.

G'day, tried the plugin here and it works IF I use it on the *.B5I file.

If I use it on the *.B5T file it complains it's not a valid image.

Also, BW5 seems to cut DVD images into 2GB chunks and unfortunately the plugin seems to only mount the first chunk - the complete directory structure can be seen but I can only access files upto the end of the first 2GB chunk limit.

lapinou, any reason why BW5 cuts it into 2GB chunks?

If it's something to do with filesystem limits, (FAT32), then can a check be added for NTFS so as not to cut it up?

Oooppss!!!! Sorry, disregard my earlier post - just as I was about to send you the B5T file, I thought - I'll just check D-Tools...

Forgot to reinstall the bw5mount.dll after I Ghost-restored my system the other day....DUH!!!

The plugin works as expected, though I'd still like to know the reason for chopping up the BW image into 2GB chunks when it shouldn't be necessary.

Thanks for the plugin!!!

I don't know why anyone else was having problems... I'm using this program to mount images of game CD-ROMS so I don't have to change discs every time I want to play a different game. For this purpose, the plug-in works perfectly. Thanks for creating it!

I downloaded the plug-in for daemons tool 3.41, and I copied it into the folder c:\program files\d-tools\plugins\images.Therefore, I could mount the images that were made by the blindwrite 5.0.0.110. However, when I mounted a image (CD audio), It only played track 1. Very strange.
Help me, please.
Thank you very much.

Looks like you have to shut down Daemon Tools and restart it for the plugin to take effect, that is probably the problem everyone is having.

Hi, everybody,
I tried this one, on a B5I file and a B5T file. I can mount any .cue .bin files, but when I try these blindwrite formats, I get "Unable to open file. Unable to open file in kernel mode".
Is this a daemon problem (latest 341), a computer/OS (using Window XP pro) , or a B5I problem and how can I fix it?
thanx.

If you receive this error on the b5i and b5t files, then the b5i file is in use by some other app. If you only get this on the b5t file, email me the b5t to andareed@daemon-tools.cc.

link?

This sounds like a great plugin; I'd love to try it. But the only link in your post is to daemon tools 3.44, which I've installed, and it doesn't seem to do anything on B5I/B5T files.

Did I miss something? Please let me know where to find your plugin.

Thanks, and best regards,
Randy

nevermind

nevermind, it is indeed in that d-tools download, I already had it, just needed a reboot.

thanks, nice.

BTW, I'm planning to make a rip of my (legal) bf1942 disc 2 so I don't have to keep the CD in the drive and (I hear, at least) make DC levels load fester.

D-Tools will support lots of formats, including bin/cue and blindwrite. Does anyone know which of these is faster and/or has lowest CPU overhead when mounted as a phantom drive?

Thanks in advance for any info you might have, theoretical or empircal.

unable to mount b5t format with daemon-tools

Hi!

I have a problem as described in the title, I downloaded the latest blindwrite and daemon-tools 3.46 also, and I can't mount b5t format. (This is a DVD-R image and I got "Invalid image file" error message.)
I noticed, that blindwrite made 2 GB chunk files, I don't know why, because my partition is NTFS.

Anybody has a same problem?

Regards,
butcher75
