Backing up NWN Hordes...

Ok, first off, I am very new to these programs and why certain things are checked or left unchecked to achieve the needed results for the different protections, but I have read the securom 5 posts and have come to the conclusion that my drive may not be able to back it up without emulation.

I am using the Asus crw-5224A with the fw 1.37 . I made a copy with alcohol120 that used the rmps. That works fine with the emulation, but I want to make a copy that I can use on my other machine that I desperatly want to keep free of these emulators or copy programs. I have tried to use BW5.1.10.136 to make my copy and have failed. I have tried to make an image with alcohol, then patch with twinpeak, and burn that patched image...fail again. Is it possible that my drive may be having a problem with these programs? I had read another post talking about this particular drive having issues with BW5 and the topography, but I am not sure what that meant or if it has been resolved already.

Sorry to sound so newbish, but that is what I am
Hope that you can maybe dumb it down for me or point me in a direction with some guidence. I have looked all over the forums, this and others. I probably just have missed what I needed to see. Thanks in advance

Re: Backing up NWN Hordes...

Are you trying to play your copies from a writer or from an ordinary cd/dvd rom? If from a writer, you will need to enable an atip hiding utility (either CloneCD's hide cdr media or alcohol's Ignore media type will do).

Re: Backing up NWN Hordes...

I'm using my writer. I will try that with alcohol. It's the only drive I have at the moment seeing how my dvd rom died recently. Thanks for the info

Re: Backing up NWN Hordes...

btw, should i only have ignore media type checked? there is another option below that mentions launch dvd manager without ignore media type...do these two cancel each other out? or are they entirely different things?
