Starforce protection

Alcohol doesn't work with War and Peace which has the starforce protection. Can this be fixed?

No. Starforce protected cds can neither be duplicated nor emulated by any conventional software.

Yes (and preferably of a type that an old luddite like me can both understand and use).

@philamber

Thats not correct. In an German ComputerTest by Chip.de Starforce 3.0 can be copied with the new Teac CD-RW and Alcohol/CloneCD.

I'm aware of it and I don't believe it (save that it's possible that someone managed a fluke).

You'll note that neither olli nor MarTinX (alcohol's programmer) claim that either of their proggies can successfully copy Starforce 3.0.

Starforce 3 can't be copied by alcohol. I'm sure!

I beg to differ with you. Someone has made a working backup with Starforce 3.0
I do not know how and I cannot mention why I know it has been backed up.
The cd/dvd cannot be used but the image can be used by unpluging your cd/dvd power cable or use a usb drive.

Re: Starforce protection

Razorwindmo46, did you take a look at the date Philamber posted that message? It's 3 years old
Now it is indeed possible to backup Starforce, but 3 years ago it wasn't

Re: Starforce protection

I have read that some ppl have managed to copy starforce 3.0+ games on CD-ROM by using twin sectors so that the angles are right so it looks like a pressed disc but no info. in reguards to DVD-ROM's.

Sorry for any spelling mistakes etc.
