You can make an emulation copy of starforce 1 or 2 with alcohol; you can't make a copy of starforce 3 that works.

The best that alcohol can do at the moment with starforce 3 is to make an image that will (sometimes/usually; personally no idea since I've never seen a starforce 3 cd downunder) run from its virtual drive but only if you unplug all your ide roms first (hardly an ideal solution or even a viable one for most people).

I can confirm that Safedisk 2.90 and 3.1 is not a problem for this nice dvd-writer. But securom 4.84x is only possible with twinpeak method and do not work on all my drives.

You don`t understand? It is possible to copy SF3

You live far from Russia - don`t know as to copy?

Hello wersachi, it's good to see someone from Russia. If you've got something to share ... say it!

I want to know too, wersachi.
It seems you haven't got any problem with that picky protection whilst the rest of the world CAN, in the best case, emulate it.
Alcohol nor BlindWtite, nor CloneCD are able to do a full working image that worked always and in every computer.

Unfortunately, no one here speaks russian ( only spanish or bad english if you like (for me)) but we will learn russian if needed to bypass that protection.
i have a way to COPY that protection based on a tricky found in WWII frontline command, but have it on development yet, and must improve for every game(more a image cracking that a 1:1 copy).
On the other side, will be pleased to know another way, (easiest one) to proceed, so please try it and will help you (or will be helped).

Thanks and please, we are waiting....

Good luck!

I need some help. I have an image made with Alcohol (RPMS etc) of Race Driver 2, which is protected with Starforce 3.x. Mounting image doesn't work, even if I unplug my 2 ide roms... is there a workaround to this??

Thx in advance

Since StarForce Version 3.3.033 it's no more possible even with emulation
May be will be fixed with next alcohol version, at least i hope it

I guess you'll just have to wait until it gets implemented.

Re: starforce 3.0

I´m a very firm believer of BlindWrite, but I´ve givin up on looking for something to make a working backup of "DTM Race Driver 2" or getting it to run without CD.
The closest I got to getting it to work without the CD and without unplugging my 2nd IDE, was to copy the CD to a location on my hard drive and then I run the game from the following directory C:\program files\Codemasters\Race Driver 2\RD2.exe (this is as it is on the CD, the game is not compressed) This way it runs without the CD and without asking for the serial. But, if someone finds software to copy the CD please let me know, I´ll test it for you

Re: starforce 3.0

What protection do protection scanners find in that file ?
If you install the game, is the installed RD2.EXE different from the one on the CD ?

How the hell did you do that!!!!!!!!

Could you share it with me and/or the rest of us. I have only been able to backup this game with the use of a "no-cd crack" which I know is not permitted in these forums so to be able to get around this would be appreciated

Thanks

Re: starforce 3.0

TOCA Race Diver 2 vs Starforce 3.3.35.002

Here's a noob's experience after bcn_234 explanation of Starforce 3.3.35.005 and Starfuck.

After trying to mount the image of TOCA Race Driver 2 ( found at no warez links allowed on this forum... philamber ) with Daemontools and Starfuck I found the following:

I tried bcn_234's way ("how-to" to be found on same page) but to no avail. When I mounted the image with Daemon it still asked for the DVD. After a few boots I tried the following:

1=Leave your CD-ROM and DVD-ROM settings alone, don't mess with that.
2=Install the game from Alcohol 120% or simular (Nero ImageDrive)
3=Configure your game settings in Toca 2
4=Start Toca 2, it will ask to reboot and do so!
5=Install Daemontools, do not start Toca2!
6=Reboot again (required for Daemon to function properly)
7=Run primary_all_ide_agressive.bat (instead of primary_all_ide.bat)
8=Run secondary_all_ide_agr.bat (instead of secondary_all_ide.bat)
You'll notice you're DVD-ROM and Writer missing in Hardware Settings and perhaps Secondary IDE Channel disabled.
9=Mount mini-image from the same .torrent file with Daemontools (file to be found here http://www.daemon-tools.cc)
10=Start Toca 2
11= Enjoy!!!

My Specs:

Intel 2,6 HT (overclocked)
512 DDR
Geforce FX5200 (overclocked)
160 GB HD
Generic DVD-ROM
TEAC DVD-Writer 8x
WinXP Home SP1

Anyhow, hope this is useful, I have no disfunctionalities or whatever, everything seems to be working fine. I am able to play like every other game, even further in Career Mode. No flying cars or whatever. Hope this is to some help to someone, please reply if not, I am working on workarounds for others.
