Installing Alcohol 120% crashes comp

Hey. I haven't been in touch with the CD-ripping/virtual drive community in quite a while, so I have a question. I recently bought a new HP computer with an AMD Athlon 64 x2 (dual core) 3800+ processor. When I run the Alcohol installer, it gets to about 99% and powers off my computer without warning. Is this normal for dual-core computers, and should I be using a combo of CloneCD and Daemon Tools instead, or something else entirely?

Re: Installing Alcohol 120% crashes comp

I am having the exact same issue trying to install Alcohol 120% 1.9.5.3105 - it gets to 99% and just reboots?

I originally downloaded the file several years ago when i purchased the program - I just bought the new PC and tried installing the software on it and thought it may just be a corrupted zip file so I found and downloaded another copy from oldversion.com and am having same issue with new copy of program so I assume it has something to do with my PC?

Re: Installing Alcohol 120% crashes comp

If you are a registered user, go to the alcohol website and download the latest version. Uninstall the old version. Then, if all goes well, the new version should install correctly. The newest version is 1.9.5.4521. That worked for me when I tried to unininstall and reinstall, without success, an older version.
