How to copy Boiling Point - Road To Hell - Securom 7.00.00.0022

Hi !!

I just downloaded the trial version of Alcohol. I have been going through the FAQ's & Forum postings but still am not able to comprehend how to make a working copy of this game (the org is on a DVD 2.5GB).

What settings to keep ? and ...

Will I be able to install & play from the burnt copy OR do I have to burn an image (which settings pls) and install and play the game off the mounted image ?

I would greatly appreciate if someone could explain it a bit to me.

Thx & Best Rgds,
Prakash.

There are no profiles for DVDs. Use DPM with maximum read speed and high precision.

Re: How to copy Boiling Point - Road To Hell - Securom 7.00.00.0022

Thx for the super fast reply ... I'll try it !

1) While browsing around the Alcohol forums & the help files, it is sometimes suggested to use a slow reading speed (1x) as far as possible, especially for copy protected games using Securom, etc. for max precision. Why then are you suggesting for me to use max speed ?

2) Should "Skip Reading Errors" be checked ? When I left it uncheked, DPM calc got stuck at 60 for over 1 hour 40 mins whereas when I checked the option DPM calc would pause briefly around 60, 70, 80%, etc & then continue ... the entire DVD being read within 8 mins.

3) Advanced Sector scanning (Factor 100) ... should this be checked too or left unticked ?

4) Last question ... Now after making an image, will I be able to burn & make a working copy of the game onto another DVD or just mount & use it in emulation mode ?

Sorry for bombarding you with so many questions.

and ... thanks again for the timely response.

Best Rgds,
Prakash.

1. Lower dpm reading speeds are recommended for cds; higher for dvds. Since it's a dvd, you should try first at max.

2. Yes.

3. Don't bother. A.S.S. is irrelevant for securom.

4. You should be able to make a physical copy that will work with RMPS emulation enabled.

1) The difference is between DVD and CD. DVD's require High Precison with Maximum Speed and CD's are basically the opposite.

2) Some versions of SecuRom have a couple of Read Errors at the end so it would not hurt to leave this checked.

3) Unchecked.

4) I would test the image in the virual drive before burning to ensure you have a good working image. You may also need to look at blacklisting issues (Conflict With Disc Emulator) with this version of SecuRom.
