Trying to back up a securom 7 protecte dvd game with alcohol 120% and get error message saying "cannot get right dpm information from the disk with current device" so of course back up does not work. I have checked skip read errors and max for dpm speed as alcohol support told me to do.

XPS Genisis 2 Dell with Teac DV-W58E burner.

As some drives are unable to obtain DPM, please post a complete system report from within Alcohol.

Here is the system report. I might mention I have had no problem with older securom protection that was on a cd only the newer protection on dvd. Thanks again for any help you can give me.

I don't see anything in your sysrep that looks like it might cause a problem (you may want to edit out your e-mail address, though). Have you tried making an image with the LG DVD-ROM drive? As Zamiell said, some drives just aren't capable of extracting DPM.

yes I have and no it does not work either. I never had this problem until securom 7 on a dvd. I am new here and would like to know how to edit my post. Only see that option on the last post..........Thanks for the suggestion and help.

I spoke too soon...........I was able to finally create the image without getting the dpm error but when I ran it I got an error message to insert correct disk. I also burned it and applied RMPS but that did not work. I tried using twin creator on aray scanner and got error message "Image file size is not multiple of 2448" so could not do that. Bottom line is does anyone know how to create a successful backup of a protected DVD with securom 7? Thanks...........appreciate any help I can get...........

Using the twin creator will only work with CDs not DVDs. Check your settings for a physical backup using emulation with this guide or try this one.
