i hate to say it but that is a great possibility as long as you are running an upgraded os. if it were me and i didn't want to do a clean install unless absolutely necessary i would reinstall xp over itself and see if it would correct some of these problems. when you boot from the cd choose install (not repair) and tell it to install in the same location. it will then tell you it finds an install there already and will ask if you want to wipe it out or attempt repair. then is when you choose repair.

even if this works for alcohol this time there is still no guarantee that you won't encounter problems in the future with this type of upgrade.

There is one other thing that you could try,

Go to control panels/system/hardware/device manager, find under "SCSI and RAID controllers" the AXV SCSI controller, and remove it.
All Alcohol drives will disappear. Normally this happens automatically when you uninstall alcohol, unless at the uninstallation time you still had some image mounted.

(Just a note and not an implecation,)
If a version has been downloaded and it is not a legitimate version there is a high chance that you will recieve errors when you try to install a legitimate version!!!

I have the same problem

I have the same problem with the installation of the alcohol-software.

A few weeks ago I had installed the trial-version of this application and now this trial-period is over.

The question ist: where can I download the full-version (is this the retail-version ?) of alcohol-120% ???

I've already ordered and received a registration-Key from "alcohol-software".

But I'm still searching für an URL to download the full-version in order to registrate ist with my key.

Can I install the full-version on my system, although the trial-version is still integrated ?

Can anyone help me ???

Hello Phoenix ,

thanks for your help offer !

I've made a mistake by deinstalling the trial software.

Now everything is working properly with the full version.

Re: Deleting alcohol 120

Hi- My alcohol 1.92 developed a hiccup.. So I tried to re-install it.

The installer gets to about 95% of fully installed, then all of a sidden I get a error message.

It says somethi8gn abotu a conflicting device or somehting... Ya think it is that SYS file that loads during startup? I forgot the name of the sys file.

I'll come back when I can post an image.

Re: Deleting alcohol 120

Version 1.9.2 build 1705 it says.

However, I did some looking and I found this thread:

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=102523

And you had posted some info about removing it from the reg. I followed your directions, then rebooted, and I was able to get it to re-install.

I don't know why, but the install I had was deciding to not show me the GUI of the program and I could not get it to come up by "switching to" etc. If this happens agaon, I know where to ask- Thanx for the info in that other thread, that was what got me working again.

Re: Deleting alcohol 120

Version 1705, is an older version, it may be prudent to upgrade to the latest version.
